Taylor Swift Once Again Asks The Court To Throw Out The “Shake It Off” Lawsuit

December 28, 2021 / Posted by:

Taylor Swift is slowly working her way through re-recording all her old songs, as a giant “fuck you” to her old record label, Big Machine, who she claims denied her the right to buy all her masters back. And one could assume that Taylor would be all too excited to leave the material from her first six albums in the past. Unfortunately, she can’t shake off (I am so sorry) the shadow of Shake It Off, the lead single from her 2014 album 1989. If I was Taylor, I would want to run as far away from “Shake It Off” as humanly possible, just because that music video is pure cringe. But Taylor’s reasons are purely ownership-based. And yet, she can’t move on from it, because there’s been a lawsuit following her around since 2017. It was dismissed once, but it’s back again, and Taylor would like it to be tossed out once more.

Chrissy Teigen Was Accused Of Ripping Off Another Chef’s Recipe

May 13, 2020 / Posted by:

Last week, Chrissy Teigen put her Twitter account on a little time-out after finding herself smack-dab in the middle of some at-home chef drama. When the heat was finally reduced to a low simmer, she took her Twitter off private, and it seemed like the kitchen drama was over. But little did Chrissy know she was about to find herself in the middle of yet another food-based Twitter throwdown. Shit, give her a minute! She’s barely had time to wipe the counters down after the last one.

CeCe Peniston Says Lizzo Stole Her Riff From “Finally” And Used It On “Juice”

October 21, 2019 / Posted by:

You know you’ve made it as a legitimate pop star when people start popping out from behind the bushes to hand you a manila envelope while yelling “you got served” with no intention of challenging you to a dance off. And you know you’ve almost made it when people start accusing you of plagiarism on the internet. Lizzo’s not quite breathing the same rarefied air as Katy Perry just yet, but she’s popular enough that she’s being accused of copyright infringement by CeCe Peniston via Instagram.

Lady Gaga Responds To An Accusation That She Ripped Off “Shallow”

August 9, 2019 / Posted by:

When the Academy Award for Best Original Song was placed into Lady Gaga’s hands on February 24, 2019, I’m sure we all thought that’s it, there it is – the last time we’re going to have to hear about Shallow. But sha-la-la-la-la-la-NO, it’s not. We’re still talking about it, because a songwriter named Steve Ronsen is threatening to sue Lady Gaga for allegedly ripping off one of his songs. But Lady Gaga really isn’t worried, and Page Six says she put her lawyer on it.

Alfonso Ribeiro’s “Carlton Dance” Copyright Has Been Denied, But He’s Still Suing Fortnite

February 16, 2019 / Posted by:

Today is a sad day for justice, and I’m not talking about “Orange Justice” (that is a Fortnite joke for those of you who try to stay out of such matters). I’m talking about the American legal system once again FAILING one of it’s citizens in another crack in the clear and obvious fault in a system that seeks to continually destroy the oppressed. Today, Alfonso Ribeiro is the victim of this system, because the The U.S. Copyright Office have stamped “DENIED” on his request to copyright his totally original pillar stone of modern society, the “Carlton Dance.”  Continue reading

Pussy Riot Has Accused Bella Thorne Of Ripping Off Their Signature Ski Masks

November 16, 2018 / Posted by:

In between cleaning more than a dozen kitty litter boxes, Bella Thorne has been working on her makeup and clothing brand, Filthy Fangs. Unfortunately, Bella is going to have a hard time catching up to other 21-year-old business moguls her age, because she keeps getting accused of blatantly ripping people off. Over the summer, Bella released several Filthy Fangs eyeshadow palettes that looked a whole lot like another makeup company’s eyeshadow palette, and she was promptly called out for it. Bella’s company just released some Filthy Fangs-branded ski masks that had the members of the Russian feminist protest band Pussy Riot thinking Bella’s been up to her old tricks again.
