Dolly Parton may not want a statue of her erected in the Tennessee State Capitol, but she didn’t mention anything about murals in Orange County, CA! So Strut, a gay club in Costa Mesa, went ahead and honored the icon with a gorgeous 50-by-20-foot mural. The club’s CEO, Luke Nero, commissioned the piece from artist David Gilmore after Dolly donated a million dollars towards the new Moderna vaccine (she got her first shot last week!). David’s goal was to create a “glamorous” and “spiritual” portrait of Dolly, and I think he hit his target. His piece makes Dolly look like Mother Nature, blonde Jesus, and a 1970s Southern beauty queen all rolled into one.

When it comes to artists who have a history of planting their heads firmly up their own ass, two of the more prominent names that come to mind are Andy Warhol and Jared Leto. So, it makes sense that the latter would be so committed to playing the former in a movie –– even if said movie has been in discussion for ages and shows no sign of actually moving ahead. In fact, this bit of casting news is literally almost four years old. And still no movie.

Kanye West’s cousin’s husband (seriously) realized he’d been sitting on a gold mine, and brought some of Yeezy’s teenage art into The Roadshow. He collected the pieces after Kanye’s mom died in 2007. Side note: When I imagine one of Kanye’s cousins, I don’t envision this guy as his husband. But hey, families are a complicated mosaic.

Lindsay Lohan and Rihanna actually have a lot in common when you think about it. Both are multi-hyphenate moguls with instant brand name recognition. Of course, in Rihanna’s case, the name Fenty is practically synonymous with a cool urban vibe, and high quality yet accessible luxury, and is the result of years of hard work and attention to detail. And in Lindsay’s case, the name Lohan evokes cigarette butts and the color orange. Most critically, they’ve both had us on tenterhooks waiting for their next album to drop! Well, move over Riri, take a seat. Looks like Lindsay’s going to beat you to the punch (I think she thinks the bowl has been laced with Molly)! Today in Lohanaissance history, will mark the day Linds gave us the artwork for her upcoming album. And if you’re expecting some illegible chicken scratch against a black background, how’d you guess!?!?!?!
