Meghan McCain Is Sorry For Backing Trump’s Anti-Asian “Rhetoric”
As anyone who has watched The View in the past four years knows, Meghan McCain speaks with the kind of drunk-on-hubris authority that makes you think the only time her mouth could utter the words, “I’m sorry” is if they were immediately followed by the words, “…but do you know who I am?“. And yet Meghan has recently issued an apology after getting publicly called out by John Oliver in a TV segment about the rise in anti-Asian and anti-Asian American racism.
Justin Timberlake Issued An Apology To Britney Spears And Janet Jackson
Justin Timberlake waited until he was good and rich (and had a movie to promote) before hopping on his Notes App and banging out a public apology to Britney Spears and Janet Jackson for times he “contributed to the problem.” What problem? Unclear. His publicist needed it done like yesterday, so no time for specifics this round. But in the apology that Justin recently posted on Instagram, he promises to do better. And considering how low the bar is for Justin, he could just mean next time he’ll pick a fun font for his next apology which should be for his crimes against fashion (1995-present).
Morgan Wallen Issued Another Apology For Using The N-Word
Morgan Wallen, the country singer who alerted me to his existence by first getting into trouble with Saturday Night Live for breaking COVID protocols then by getting caught on video using the n-word instead of by my preferred method for being alerted to a country singer’s existence which is by dressing like a magical rhinestone hayseed at the CMA’s, is sorry. Again. If that first apology he gave right after TMZ published the video of him calling his “friend” a “pussy-ass n-word” as he stumbled to his house was lacking, that was on TMZ. But the other stuff, well that was on him. But the old him. After consulting with some Black people, he’s a new man, and that new man would never!
Lily Collins Admits She Was Wrong About The Age Of Her “Emily In Paris” Character
Last week Lily Collins, star of the très stupide but très jolie Netflix show Emily in Paris, embarrassed herself when she told British Vogue that she thought her character was only 22 years old. HA! Here are the FACTS: Emily has a Masters degree, a big, important job at a big, important marketing firm, a closet full of expensive-looking clothes, and a dildo that you plug into a wall. Bitch ain’t 22. Also, not to slag off Ms. Collins, who’s clearly a gorgeous model/actress/nepotism baby, but Lily herself is 31. For a woman, that’s “I have three teenagers” acting territory, not “fresh out of undergrad” roles! Welp, based on the “fan” backlash (is anyone really an Emily in Paris “fan”, or are we all just victims of Netflix’s algorithm?), Lily is now backtracking on her “like, 22ish?” statement. She posted to her socials that she did a whoopies and was sorry.
Some Current And Former “Ellen” Employees Didn’t Buy Ellen DeGeneres’ TV Apology
Yesterday, Ellen DeGeneres was finally released from her multi-million dollar jail cell and returned to the Warner Bros. studio lot to film the 18th season of Ellen. But before Ellen could celebrate, she had to first execute an apology that would sound convincing enough to keep people from switching the channel to a Ninja blender infomercial. It was up to the viewer to look into Ellen’s eyes and determine whether she was really sorry, or just really fucking sorry she didn’t make Ellen employees take a blood oath to never speak ill of their leader. Well, BuzzFeed (basically Ellen’s unofficial Human Resources Department at this point) is reporting that they’ve spoken to some past and present Ellen employees, and those employees thought Ellen’s apology was faker than those potted white studio set orchids behind her.
Ellen DeGeneres Kicked Off The Season 18 Premiere Of “Ellen” With A Big Apology
It was touch and go for a second, but the Ellen show returned today for its 18th season (“touch and go” might also be used to describe the alleged work history of three of her former producers). Ellen DeGeneres booked it out of her studio in March, to quarantine at home, but she couldn’t isolate herself from all the allegations that she’s an awful, abusive boss who ran a terrible workplace. After some “will they/won’t they” regarding if the show would come back this fall at all, the 18th season of Ellen premiered today and as promised, Ellen addressed the whole situation.
