Selena Gomez Asked Her Fans To Stop The Hate After Hailey Bieber Reached Out To Her About Getting Death Threats
Hailey Bieber has been fearing for her life lately, and no, it’s not because she’s been hanging out on the set of her Unky Alec Baldwin’s Rust revival. It’s still because of Hailey and Kylie Jenner possibly making fun of Justin Bieber’s ex-girlfriend, Selena Gomez, and her over-laminated brows. Selena only recently got back on social media after her umpteenth break but used her huge platform to ask her rabid fans to “Calm Down” after Hailey contacted her about the relentless harassment and threats she’s been receiving.
Selena, 30, is the most-followed woman on Instagram, and after Brow-gate last month, over 1 million people unfollowed her closest competitor, Kylie. But Hailey, 26, who’s been pitted against Selena ever since getting with 29-year-old human hacky sack Justin, has been getting trolled in her comment sections and receiving death threats even though Kylie and Selena attempted to squelch the frenzy. At the time, Selena told her followers that the hate is “unnecessary,” and she’s a fan of Kylie. And then there was a cameo by Selena’s best (non-kidney donating) friend, Taylor Swift, that also stoked the Selenators’ hellfire. via People:
Gomez then found herself caught up in some more drama with Hailey when she responded to a resurfaced video of the model mocking her BFF Taylor Swift.
The clip showed Hailey on her old show Drop the Mic alongside her co-host Method Man. When the rapper referenced “Taylor Swift‘s last album,” Hailey pretended to gag and stuck her tongue out before rolling her eyes.
Showing her support for Swift, 33, in the comments section of the viral video, Gomez wrote, “So sorry, my best friend is and continues to be one of the best in the game.”
And now that the tension has bubbled over into scary territory, “too old for this” Selena finally took to her Instagram Stories to ask her fans to cool it at Hailey’s request.
This campaign to erase the hate was almost admirable until I remembered that Selena voluntarily admitted to being besties with nightmare bullying bride, Nicola Peltz Beckham. Alas, I think there’s really only one way to put a stop to all of this: Hailey, please remit one contingency kidney at your earliest convenience.
