Selena Gomez Commented On A TikTok About Her Being “Always Skinny” When She And Justin Bieber Were Together

Despite Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber quitting each other’s dysfunctional asses ages ago, controversy still continues to break out on account of “Jelena.” This time, five whole years after the breakup, someone made a TikTok about why Selena was “always skinny” when she was with Justin. And according to the video, no, the reasoning wasn’t because Hollywood is a toxic superficial cesspool, or because she was literally a teenager back then, or because it’s her body and she wanted to be, or because she was suffering from multiple illnesses that resulted in needing an eventual (now contentious) donated kidney from her (ex?) friend or all of the above–but because Selena left one comment on Instagram a while back that Justin would “rather models,” and she’s “too normal.”  And either Selena agrees that Justin was the reason or is annoyed at the TikToker for implying he was or for making a TikTok about her weight at all because she left an ambiguous sad face emoji in the comment section of the video, and now everyone’s even more confused than before.

According to E! News, lesser Selena, who by all criteria is still currently “skinny,” saw the TikTok about how her long-over past relationship affected her weight and decided to comment.

Selena and Justin dated off-and-on from 2010 to 2018. She recently addressed their high-profile breakup in her new documentary, Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me—which premiered in November—calling it “the best thing that ever happened to me.”

The clip, posted Nov. 29, featured a montage of throwback photos of Selena labeled, “The reason why Selena is always skinny when she dates Justin.” In the caption, the creator claimed the “Baby” singer—who has been married to Hailey Bieber since 2018—”rathers models” and pitied Selena calling her, “My poor baby.”

I guess Selena had the time to drop a single emoji but not to type any words that could put the frenzy that followed in the comment section to rest by clarifying how she actually felt about the whole thing.

On Dec. 11, Selena reacted to the post by dropping a sad emoji face in the comments. While some fans interpreted the 30-year-old chiming in as agreeing with the TikTok’s claim, many others took it as her being disappointed that her weight was being judged online.

“Maybe she’s upset you guys are constantly bringing up her body changing over the years,” one fan wrote in the comments, while another said, “Sad face because YOURE still discussing about her past like you know her.”

Others found the entire TikTok inappropriate with one fan commenting, “Her weight shouldn’t even be a subject of conversation.”

Welp, that clears up nothing for those still engrossed in dissecting Justin and Selena’s past entanglement, so let’s just move on to someone else. Her old purple friend, Barney? That bitch is thicc as fuck now. Clearly, Baby Bop’s fault for encouraging binge eating.
