Selena Gomez Is Taking A Break From Social Media Again

Our thoughts and prayers are with Selena Gomez, who, in an incredible feat of bravery, has announced she’ll be taking another break from social media over some ongoing messiness with Hailey Bieber. This comes after Selena overtook Kylie Jenner as the most-followed woman on Instagram (Selena has 383 million followers, and Kylie has 380 million paid-bots followers). So Selena took the IG crown from Kylie and then exited stage left.. for now.
People says that before Houdini-ing herself from social media, she broke the news to her fans in a recent TikTok video:
“I’m going to be taking a second from social media, because this is a little silly. I’m 30 and am too old for this. But I love you so much and I’ll see you guys sooner than later,” she said. “I’m just gonna take a break from everything.”

The decision was conveniently made after Selena reacted to a fan-made TikTok video which insisted that Hailey, Kendall Jenner, and another friend (who was not named because they don’t have a famous last name) made a TikTok veiled in shade towards Selena. In the video, the trio mouths the audio in a creepy The Shining twins-type unison: “I’m not saying she deserved it, but I’m saying God’s timing is always right.”

Unbothered by the nepo-babies, Selena commented,
“It’s ok! I don’t let these things get me down! Be nice to everyone! x,”
Let the record show that they did not mention Selena’s name, nor was there any indication that they were coming for Selena. But Selena can feel when there’s a snake slithering by her ankle because recently, there’s been a back-and-forth rally of supposed jabs between the two. And after a few rounds, Selena got tired of having to fight off these rabid packs of nepo babies. Earlier this week, Selena responded to a Tik Tok of Hailey gagging at the mention of Selena’s close friend and everybody’s ex-girlfriend, Taylor Swift, while cohosting Drop the Mic.
“So sorry, my best friend is and continues to be one of the best in the game,” wrote Gomez in a comment.
Not to mention that Selena has been praising videos that call out Hailey Bieber for being a “mean girl.”
Get her! There’s been a “feud” between these two for years, and it seems to be rooted in Selena once upon a time dating Hailey’s husband, Justin Bieber. But that’s hard to imagine since Justin is the kind of guy you want to forget you ever dated. He’s what we call a “He who must not be named” type of ex. The kind where you want to Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind him out of your brain, but you can’t, so you’re just left with, “What the fuck was I thinking?” So Hailey, if you’re feeling insecure about Selena and your man, don’t worry; nobody wants him!
