Taraji P. Henson, Indya Moore, And Jurnee Smollett All Showed Their Support For Jussie Smollett

Last week Jussie Smollett was sentenced to 150 days in prison and 30 months of probation after being found guilty of lying to the police about being attacked in a 2019 hate crime. He was also ordered to pay a $25,000 fine and $120,106 in restitution. Whew. As Jussie was being led out of the courtroom, he raised his fist and yelled, “I am not suicidal, I am innocent!” and his sister, actress Jurnee Smollett, yelled, “Stop locking up our Black men!” Over the weekend Jurnee doubled down on Instagram, sharing an image with the hashtag #FreeJussie, and writing that while her brother is innocent, “you shouldn’t have to believe in his innocence to believe he should be free.” Actors Indya Moore (Pose) and Kendrick Sampson (Nathan from Insecure), and Jussie’s Empire co-star Taraji P.
