Winston Marshall Is Taking A Break From Mumford & Sons After Praising A Book By Right-Wing Journalist Andy Ngo
I know a bunch of you just responded, “who, meh, and who?” to that headline, so please, let me explain. A few days ago Winston Marshall, the banjo player in Mumford & Sons (not the one married to Carey Mulligan, the one who split from Dianna Agron last year) received a ton of online backlash after voicing his support for the book, “Unmasked: Inside Antifa’s Radical Plan to Destroy Democracy” by Andy Ngo. Andy, a FOX News regular, is known for his super-right-wing reporting on Portland protests and his affiliation with neo-fascist groups the Proud Boys and Patriot Prayer. In a (since-deleted) tweet, Winston wrote: “Congratulations @MrAndy Ngo. Finally had the time to read your important book. Good Morning America’s Lara Spencer found out last week that laughing at a 6-year-old boy for taking ballet lessons isn’t something people are here for. And as Prince George quietly made a plan to imprison Lara’s living relatives when he becomes King and takes over America, many (including Debbie Allen, Chita Rivera, and Gene Kelly’s widow) defended male dancers, and so Lara pirouetted her ass into the damage control zone. Ben probably thought that the most awkward and uncomfortable question Stephen Colbertwas going to ask him might be about Justice League’s garbage reviews. If only! Instead, Stephen bypassed that and went straight for the gross elephant in the room by asking about Harvey Weinstein and Ben’s own allegations of groping.
