Halyna Hutchins’ Family Has Sued Alec Baldwin And Others For Wrongful Death
The family of late cinematographer Halyna Hutchins is suing Alec Baldwin for wrongful death for his involvement in the tragic accidental shooting on the set of Rust back in October. The lawsuit claims Alec “recklessly shot and killed Halyna Hutchins.” It’s not just Alec who’s being sued; defendants also include armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, assistant director David Hall, a bunch of production companies, and the company that provided the ammunition. Despite Alec’s interview claim that he never pulled the trigger on the gun that killed Halyna, the suit is saying he did. They allege that Alec pulling the trigger, plus many, many lapses in safety on-set, led to Halyna’s death.
Hannah Gutierrez-Reed Has Filed A Lawsuit Against The Person Who Supplied The Ammunition For “Rust”
While Alec Baldwin is busy trying to erase “find sexy Latinas in my area” from his search history before the police get a hold of his phone, Rust armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed continues to try to cover her own ass by filing a lawsuit against a man named Seth Kenney, the owner of PDQ Arm & Prop, who she claims provided the ammunition for the film, including the live round that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injured director Joel Souza. TMZ says that even though Alec, who held the gun that killed Halyna, is not named in her suit, Hannah claims that he ignored her request to attend a “cross draw training session” with her prior to the unscheduled rehearsal in the church. She also claims that assistant director Dave Halls assured her he would be “sitting with the gun” during the rehearsal that she wasn’t allowed to attend because of COVID protocols. Hannah says if she had been there, she never would have allowed Alec to point the gun at Halnya.
Alec Baldwin Still Hasn’t Handed Over His Phone In The “Rust” Shooting Investigation
The Los Angeles Times says that it’s been over three weeks since New Mexico investigators got a warrant to search Alec Baldwin’s cell phone for information that will help them with their investigation into the October accidental shooting on the set of Rust that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injured director Joel Souza. During his Christopher Guest-like impromptu roadside press conference with the paps, Alec, who was also a producer on Rust, said that he’s fully cooperating with authorities and that he has to keep his lips shut since the investigation is still open. But Alec has been talking away, and now The L.A. Times says that he hasn’t handed over his phone to Santa Fe detectives yet and so they had to ask authorities in New York, where Alec lives, for help. But in Alec’s defense, how can he hand over his cell phone when he’s too busy using it to tell his side again?! Case in point: Alec used his phone to record an Instagram video where he shit all over the claims that he’s not cooperating with the investigation.
The Santa Fe Sheriff’s Department Has Obtained A Search Warrant For Alec Baldwin’s Cell Phone
I don’t know how you accidentally shoot someone then turn around and make things a million times worse for yourself by marinating in a toxic stew of victimhood and hubris spiced with a steady stream of diarrhea of the mouth. But that’s Alec Baldwin for you. In his initial statements to the media following the accidental shooting death of Rust cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, which also resulted in the film’s director Joel Souza being shot in the shoulder, Alec assured us via Twitter that he was “fully cooperating with the police investigation to address how this tragedy occurred.” Apparently though, turning over his cell phone to police when asked was a bridge too far. Now a judge has taken that decision out of Alec’s hands and granted a search warrant for his phone and some poor sap has to sift through thousands of messages from Hilaria Baldwin asking him to pick up a baby on his way home.
The Santa Fe DA Is Not Happy With Alec Baldwin’s Interview About The “Rust” Shooting
The accidental shooting death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the New Mexico set of Rust happened a little over a month ago, and since then, Alec Baldwin, who was holding the gun, has talked about it several times including Thursday night’s interview on ABC News with George Stephanopolous, and a cringe-inducing roadside talk with the paps where he awkwardly told his wife Hilaria Baldwin to shush. Well, the Santa Fe DA is now the Alec Baldwin to Alec’s Hilaria, because they’re telling him in so many words to shush. After Alec’s interview aired, the Santa Fe District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies said that nobody involved in the tragedy has been cleared, and sources tell Deadline that the Santa Fe Sherrif’s Office felt betrayed by the interview since they previously made it clear to him that it’s an open investigation and to keep his lips shut to the media.
Alec Baldwin Claims That He’s Not Responsible For Halyna Hutchins’ Death
As teased yesterday, Alec Baldwin sat down with ABC News and George Stephanopoulos for his first one-on-one interview about the horrific death on the New Mexico set of the western film Rust, in which the gun he was allegedly just holding went off, killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injuring director Joel Souza. What we gathered from the promo released yesterday was Alec claiming he never fired the gun (that it simply went off in his hand), that he had no idea how a live round made its way into the antique firearm, and that it was the worst day of his life. There’s more, including Alec’s choice to talk about this situation, rather than wait and save it for court, and that he doesn’t feel any guilt for what happened, because he believes it’s someone’s fault, just not his.
