Scalpers Are Already Trying To Cash In On Lea Michele In “Funny Girl,” And Beanie Feldstein Might Have Been Blindsided By The News

July 13, 2022 / Posted by:

It’s been all of three seconds since Lea Michele landed the role of a lifetime: that of a real-life Barbra Streisand impersonator at the heart of some ambition-based musical theater drama. Or rather, the replacement role of Fanny Brice in the Broadway revival of Funny Girl, left vacant by Beanie Feldstein, who originally chose to leave the show in September, but then suddenly changed her mind and wanted out as soon as humanly possible (hmmm…I wonder why??). Lea replacing Beanie has turned into Broadway gossip Christmas, and some scalpers are doing the absolute most to profit off of the situation, including driving up ticket prices into the four-figure mark. Oh, and there are more rumors about Lea’s little takeover, which is great news if you wanted to guess exactly when producers handed her the part.

Samantha Ware Comments On Lea Michele Becoming The New “Funny Girl” On Broadway

July 12, 2022 / Posted by:

A few years ago, Samantha Ware–who starred on Glee as the character Jane during its sixth season–casually burned down anything that could have been positive regarding Lea Michele‘s reputation. Samantha took to Twitter to let us all know that Lea made the set of Glee a living hell for her and bullied her on more than a few occasions including threatening to “shit” in her wig. But while Samantha has never said Lea is a racist, she’s definitely not pretending she doesn’t benefit from the “whiteness” that gets rewarded in Hollywood. And because that “whiteness” just got cast as the lead in Funny Girl on Broadway, Samantha has something to say.

Lea Michele Is Broadway’s New “Funny Girl,” Replacing Beanie Feldstein Who Is Leaving The Show Early

July 11, 2022 / Posted by:

The rain predicted to fall on Beanie Feldstein’s last curtain call as Fanny Brice come September in the troubled Broadway revival of Funny Girl has arrived a bit earlier than expected. Not that Funny Girl hasn’t been weathering a category 5 shit storm from the moment it debuted to tepid reviews and repeated “her?”s back in April, but Beanie made a surprise announcement on Instagram last night that she’ll be taking her final bow on July 31, two months sooner than her originally scheduled departure at the end of September. Beanie says she made the “very difficult decision” to bounce early after “production decided to take the show in a different direction.” If I had to venture a guess as to what happened, I’d say Beanie probably flipped her wig when she heard Lea Michele was being considered as her replacement, went to put it back on, and realized it was full of shit. Now, I don’t know if it was Lea or walking around in a shit storm with an upside-down wig, but Lea has just been confirmed as Broadway’s next Fanny Brice so… Look, I’ll just say — there’s no people like show people.

Beanie Feldstein And Jane Lynch Are Both Leaving The Broadway Revival Of “Funny Girl” In The Fall

June 16, 2022 / Posted by:

In April, Beanie Feldstein took the stage back as the titular funny girl herself Fanny Brice in the first-ever Broadway revival of Funny Girl. The original Fanny, Barbra Streisand, stayed with the show for almost two years. But well, Beanie Feldstein will only be the “greatest star” for another five months.
