Open Post: Hosted By The Pokemon-Playing Fish Who Committed Credit Card Fraud

January 28, 2023 / Posted by:

Typically, when we think of thieves, we picture characters like Jasper and Horace from Disney’s animated feature 101 Dalmatians or Harry and Marv from Home Alones 1 & 2. Basically, a small, stocky guy who’s sketchy or a tall, lanky guy with ill intentions. However, sometimes the most devious and effective thieves come in a form you would never expect. For instance, a fish. Yep, if a trout had the chance, it would rob you and everyone you cared about! That’s what happened to a YouTuber recently when he discovered that his adorable pet fish were actually scam artists capable of committing credit card fraud!

Pop quiz: Who loves eating Doritos all day, taking long naps, and luxuriating in baths? If you answered me, then you are right. But if you answered Spike, the chihuahua, you’re even more right! The now-famous Spike has reached the ripe age of 23, which makes him the newly crowned world’s oldest dog. Yes, it seems Doritos and baths are the key to a long life.

Open Post: Hosted By The Tasmanian Devil Who Was Mistaken For A Dog Toy

December 30, 2022 / Posted by:

Picture it — you’re Kirsten Lynch from Hobart, the capital of the Australian island state of Tasmania. You’re hanging out at home, around 10 pm on Wednesday, when your four-month golden retriever lets out a “very strange bark.” So, you run downstairs to grab your puppy’s Tasmanian devil-shaped plush toy. Suddenly, this “toy” scurries away before you can grab it. Oh shit. Has the toy become sentient a la Toy Story? Or is this an actual Tasmanian devil? Luckily for Kirsten (or unluckily, depending on how you look at it), it was the latter. A Tasmanian devil had broken into her house!

Open Post: Hosted By A Border Collie Doing A Trust Fall

December 17, 2022 / Posted by:

Growing up, one of my uncle’s favorite whimsical pieces of advice was, “Never EVER trust anyone.” His simple, consistent message over the years definitely didn’t have any effect on me and my relationships with people! However, there are some beings on earth who don’t bat an eye when it comes to confiding in others. Dogs are particularly good at putting their faith in their favorite people. Take this TikTok of a Border Collie Tesla who engaged in what I see as a very dangerous trust fall with a human. Trusting us humans? The things that are destroying the rainforest and made the Kardashians famous? Bad idea!

Open Post: Hosted By The Mom Who Saved Her Daughter From A Raccoon Attack

December 5, 2022 / Posted by:

I live in Toronto, where raccoons outnumber people 5 to 1* (a la New Zealanders and sheep), and so far, I haven’t had any negative experiences. Most of the raccoons are just cute lil’ garbage-eatin’ bumblers. But this isn’t always the case. See: the MacNamara family’s recent fight for their lives in Ashford, Connecticut. People reports that last Friday morning, 5-year-old Rylee was standing on her front porch when a raging raccoon randomly attacked her leg. Rylee screamed for help, and her mother, Logan Kelsey MacNamara, ran outside to save the day. Logan pulled the critter off Rylee’s leg, pushed her inside, and flung the vicious raccoon onto the lawn. After Logan got back inside her house, the raccoon picked himself off the grass and continued on his merry way. Another day, another terrorized family!

Open Post: Hosted By The “Reckless Driver” Dog Of Texas

December 4, 2022 / Posted by:

We’ve all been involved in some sort of fender bender. Usually, the person at fault is a distracted driver who’s on the phone or is eating a McMuffin with one hand and holding jumbo 7-11 coffee in the other. However, a recent accident in the parking lot of a Walmart couldn’t be blamed on a distracted driver. The figure behind the wheel of this particular incident was a character who couldn’t even hold a cup, much less legally drive a car: a dog! Hard to sue for damages when the only compensation you’ll likely get is a bowl of Purina puppy chow.
