Britney Spears Blames Her Mom For Her Conservatorship
Britney Spears recently took to Instagram to let everyone know that despite what her mother Lynne Spears was doing publicly, that Lynne also has a spot on Britney’s Shit List. Lynne had been pushing for Britney to choose her own lawyer, and Jamie’s lawyers had accused Lynne of meddling in Britney’s financial situation after Lynne filed papers asking where Britney’s money went. Lynne also publicly celebrated the news when Jamie Spears claimed he’d be stepping down as conservator. That’s nice, right? No, says Britney, who has since accused her mom of secretly ruining her life alongside Jamie.
In a now-deleted Instagram post, Britney claims that while her dad started her conservatorship 13 years ago, it was actually her mom who planted the idea of the conservatorship in her father’s head. Britney blames Lynne for ruining her life:

As for the current state of Britney’s conservatorship, Jamie was suspended as Britney’s co-conservator in September. Britney’s lawyer Mathew Rosengart also accused Jamie of stubbornly hanging around until he gets a $2 million severance check and demanded that Jamie hand over the books to see how he’s been spending his daughter’s money. But recently Jamie has made it known he’s not looking to leave with a $2 million parting gift or anything for that matter. Jamie wants the conservatorship to end, with no strings attached. Don’t worry, that deeply skeptical feeling is mutual.
Jamie Spears controlled Britney’s money, and Jodi Montgomery was in charge of Britney the person. Jamie was suspended, which meant his always-full cookie jar had been snatched from his greedy paw. Britney’s lawyer has said that they don’t want to pull the kill switch on the conservatorship just yet – they just wanted Jamie out and for someone to look at how he was spending her money. For some reason, Jamie really wants that conservatorship dead in the ground ASAP. via TMZ:
Brit’s father filed new legal docs, obtained by TMZ, in which he lays out his position as clearly as possible. Attorneys for Jamie write, “Jamie unconditionally loves and supports his daughter. Full stop. As he has done for her entire life, Jamie will do everything he can to protect and care for her. For the last 13 years, that included serving as her Conservator. Now, it means ending her Conservatorship.”
The filing goes on to explain Jamie is not seeking any further compensation or a release for what went down during the conservatorship, adding that he’s willing to be fully transparent in handing over all of his files on the conservatorship in order to officially close the book on this chapter.
TMZ notes that Jamie has added that everything he did for Britney was done in her best interests (sir, you allegedly bugged her bedroom, but remain strong in those convictions) and that he’s fully on board with giving Britney her freedom. Immediately! Like, today – November 3rd, if possible. What’s the hold up? Just do it already!
“This conservatorship should end. Now. There is no reason for another second of delay. Jamie is willing to stipulate to the immediate termination of the conservatorship without reservation or exception.”
They finish by saying Jamie will NOT continue to serve as conservator any longer. In any case, he says he’ll transfer all files and materials over to Brit’s attorneys and team…whether the conservatorship ends today or not.
Shoot, suddenly the man who was micromanaging how many foils Britney was allowed to have on her head during a bleach job is now suddenly wants to see Britney frolicking in her newfound freedom, without a single legal care in the world. Interesting.
And about Lynne Spears, maybe she can get some damage control advice from her other daughter. Britney called out Jamie Lynn Spears, and what do you know, Jamie Lynn wrote a memoir in which she claims her parents tried to pressure her to terminate her pregnancy for the sake of her career and all that $$$. Maybe Lynne can also try to get a little sympathy by throwing Jamie under the bus. But how? It’s a different dynamic because Jamie was Lynne’s husband. She’s going to have to get more creative than just accusing him of leaving the toilet seat up or shitting with the door open.
