Britney Spears’ Social Media Manager Spoke Out About Those Instagram Conspiracy Theories

February 3, 2021 / Posted by:

There’s been a lot of controversy about Britney Spears’ Instagram. Who runs it? Does Brit Brit have access? Does she read the comments? Is she even allowed a phone? Is the content controlled by her conservators? What’s being censored? Is Britney leaving secret messages for the #FreeBritney movement?

Well, Britney’s longtime social media manager, Cassie Petrey, has posted a small essay explaining exactly how Britney’s Instagram works. Cassie claims Britney creates her own posts and writes her own captions. And she says her work as social media manager has absolutely nothing to do with the Spears conservatorship. Or is that just what Daddy Spears wants us to think? Open your eyes, sheeple!

Here’s the post:

Nice, start with sucking up to the Britney fans. Clever girl. She continues:

However, there are a lot of inaccurate theories out there about how Britney Spears’ social media operates, and I want to give as much information as I can without violating her privacy or mine.

Britney creates her own posts and writes her own captions for Instagram. She finds the google images, pinterest images, quotes, memes, and everything else herself. Nobody is suggesting any of that stuff to her. She generally edits the videos herself. If a video she sends in is edited by her social media team, it’s because she gave specific instructions and asked for it to be edited that way. Then she sees it and decides if she wants to post it or not.

I truly love the idea of acclaimed filmmaker Britney Spears painstakingly editing her twirling videos on iMovie.

She has stated many times that she creates the posts, but people continue to believe conspiracy theories over what Britney says over and over again. Britney is not “asking for help” or leaving secret messages in her social media. She is literally just living her life and trying to have fun on instagram.

She has a team to help strategize like any major celebrity generally does at this point in her career. Almost every person has a social media team – just like they have a manager, publicist, record label, etc.

Then Cassie expelled the rumors that she has anything to do with Brit’s former business manager Lou Taylor or Anastasia Brown (a name dropped in one of the Britney conspiracy theories):

I was not hired by Britney via Lou Taylor, and I don’t know Anastasia Brown. That’s not how I met Britney and her team. This is another example of assumptions being made rather understanding true facts.

Crowdbooster is a data tool, not a bot interacting with people. Again, an assumption being made with no true facts.

Britney was told about “Repeal 50-A” and she decided she wanted to post it. Nobody forced her to push any narrative she didn’t want to. Again, more assumptions with zero facts.

I have never been to Hawaii with Britney Spears, and didn’t take any of the photos on her trips. I have my own life, and I’m perfectly capable of having a vacation without a client. Britney has never paid for me to go on any vacations with her.

Yeah, that’s boyfriend Sam Asghari’s gig, thankyouverymuch!

My work on Britney’s social media does not involve her conservatorship in any way. That’s a court and lawyer thing. Since when do digital marketing people have anything to do with things that courts and lawyers handle?

The Four Agreements is one of the most popular self help books of all time. Quit trying to make 2 women liking the same book a conspiracy theory.

The viral Tik Tok about somebody getting hired to be be Britney Spears’ social media manager is simply not true. Not sure who made it up, but nobody has ever been asked any interview questions like that.

Here’s the TikTok Cassie is referring to:

@dearjane1

She’s a true icon!💗 Hope she’ll be free one day! #storytime #celeb #singer #tiktokstories

♬ Blue Blood – Heinz Kiessling & Various Artists

Cassie continues:

These are facts. Not the current fiction, assumptions, and exaggerations that are currently circulating.

In terms of being supportive of Britney on her social media, the best thing you can do for her is just be nice. That’s all she really wants. Don’t bully her. She doesn’t deserve it. She’s having fun creating posts and sharing images that she likes. That’s it. There’s not some secret agenda to it. She’s just having a good time, and I hope this helps people see it for what it actually is.

I’m gonna guess that Cassie’s post has something to do with a recent Twitter thread from popular #FreeBritney supporter/conspiracy theorist @BritneyHiatus:

Unsurprisingly, the fan account and other #FreeBritney devotees are already poking holes in Cassie’s post:

Cassie’s Instagram post was also flooded with #FreeBritney fans calling her a liar, and she limited the comments.

I don’t know if Cassie is telling the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth (so help me God), but I will say this: If our girl keeps releasing primo content like this video, who the hell cares what’s real and what’s not? Our relatable pop princess:
