Archie’s Birth Might Have Been The Moment Harry And Meghan Decided To Leave

January 16, 2020 / Posted by:

For the past week (how has it only been a week?), there have been many theories about what made Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan decide to quit their jobs as full-time senior royals. Which include, but are not limited to, a lack of privacy, the shitty racist British press, a feud with Prince William, Harry’s toxic family, and a desire to make their own money. But we never really knew when they made the decision to bring down the monarchy. Well, a source tells People magazine that Harry and Meghan decided to leave as Archie was leaving his mom’s body.

People’s source is allegedly a close friend of Harry and Meghan. I’m going to guess they’re Meghan’s, since Harry allegedly doesn’t have any friends. That friend claims Harry and Meghan were already thinking about leaving when Meghan was pregnant, and that they were ready to hit the “nuclear button” when Archie was born in May of 2019. The source says that the desire to have a “normal” family life was a big reason for stepping down as senior royals. And while some people solely blame Meghan, one source would like you to know that Harry was 100% on board with it.

“When Meghan came around and she was interested in making changes, he welcomed it,” says a friend. When Archie was born, the couple’s focus shifted even more to “doing what’s right for their family,” adds another friend.

And now when you go back and look at Archie’s birth and first couple of months, it all makes sense. Harry and Meghan never did the post-birth photo-op outside of the hospital, like Prince William and Duchess Kate did when their three kids were born. Archie didn’t get a royal title. They reportedly wanted to keep his birth certificate private, and raise him as a private citizen. His christening was a private affair, and only a couple photos were released to the public afterwards. They’ve only released a few pictures of Archie.

As of right now, Archie is in Canada with his mom. And speaking of Canada, Harry still isn’t there yet. He’s in the UK, running out the clock on his two weeks notice. Because even though he quit, he still has a few jobs to do. Like hosting the 2021 Rugby League World Cup draws for men’s, women’s and wheelchair tournaments at Buckingham Palace earlier today. Us Weekly says that Harry was asked repeatedly by reporters about his and Meghan’s decision to leave, and he ignored those questions. At one point, Harry was seen with his back to reporters, laughing at their attempts to get information out of him.

Harry’s appearance at Buckingham Palace was Harry’s first official gig since announcing he was stepping back. Queen Elizabeth has said that there would be a transitional period between full-time royal life and semi-professional royal life. But The Daily Mail seems to think that was Harry’s last job. They describe him as “racing” through his appearance, dodging questions. They also say he was “glued to his phone” as he arrived in his Jaguar. The Daily Mail points out that Harry has been staying at Frogmore Cottage, and has kind of been hiding out there. However, Harry posted an Instagram video announcing the location of the 2022 Invictus Games, and E! News seems to think that was his way of saying he’d still be around to host those.

Here we come Düsseldorf 🇩🇪! The new home for the 2022 and sixth Invictus Games. Having previously been held in London, Orlando, Toronto, Sydney, and upcoming The Hague this year in May – Düsseldorf will welcome over 500 competitors as they showcase their talents, determination and camaraderie to the world! The #InvictusGames is an international adaptive multi-sport event, created by The Duke of Sussex, in which wounded, injured or sick (WIS) armed services personnel and veterans show the world what they’re capable of in a series of adaptive sports, ranging from wheelchair basketball to indoor rowing. The Duke, having spent 10 years serving in the Armed Forces, set up the @WeAreInvictusGames to celebrate the power of sport rehabilitation (both physically and mentally) and to generate a wider appreciation for those who served their country beyond their time in uniform. Participating in the Games plays a significant part in the recovery journey of WIS Servicemen and women. It doesn’t just heal the individual, it heals the whole family. • “I hope everyone in Germany is ready for what will be an incredible week of sport! I have no doubt that the German public will get right behind these Games and that every single competitor can expect a warm welcome and an amazing atmosphere.” – The Duke of Sussex For more information of the announcement, visit https://invictusgamesfoundation.org/ig2022-announcement/ Video © @WeAreInvictusGames

Harry might not have wanted to talk about the situation today, but Prince William kind of did. People say that William and Kate met with community groups at the Khidmat Centre in Bradford, Yorkshire yesterday, and he might have subtly addressed what’s going on with his brother. William said:

“It’s sometimes trying to get people to understand that’s it’s okay to have these challenges. We just need to deal with them and we need to move forward rather than just be stuck in paralysis.”

William and Kate’s event at the Khidmat Centre was their first official royal gig since Sussexodus, and so many people think that was his way of talking about it without actually talking about it. Later on, they made milkshakes, for some reason.

I really wish William had tried to address the situation with Harry and Meghan while making milkshakes. If only because I really want to hear William’s proper British accent say something like, “My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard…well, not every boy. Some boys want to piss off to Canada, apparently.
