Kanye West Continues The Grift With His $55 Sunday Service “Brunch”
Kanye West has really been grifting the people of America and the world with his unbelievably shitty merchandise. Of varying kinds. His clothes are insanely bad both in design and price. His Sunday Service merchandise is so overpriced that even Goop is like: “Really, bitch? $50 for socks and they don’t even claim to clear your chakras? Sort of a rip off…” And he made his fans wait like a year for an album that was shorter than your workout. I mean, the man is consistently under-delivering and over-charging. It’s the only thing Kris Jenner likes about his alienating personality right now. Well he continues to rake in the big bucks for the Kardashian Koven and now he’s charged people $55 to eat a measly “brunch“. Oh but this time there’s an excuse. It’s the caterer’s fault.
TMZ says that people got pissed when attending Kanye West’s appearance at “Brunchella“, an annual fundraising event in Baton Rouge last week. The fundraising event (which I’m guessing was really to raise funds for the Koven) at Bethany Church charged guests $55 a plate. One person took a snapshot of the brunch being offered at the event and it was a breakfast version of that sad Fyre Festival sandwich:

I can tell that pancake is dry. Those pieces of bacon are the microwavable kind. I have them in my fridge right now. That sausage is…. looking gray. And the styrofoam plate? Why bother with the separate compartments when everything is drier than Kourtney Kardashian’s personality. That brunch plate is the brunch plate version of the Kardashians: bland, unseasoned, and full of preservatives.
But sources say that Kanye is not at fault. Not only was he not paid for the gig, but he also personally paid for the travel costs of that huge choir of his. Which makes sense because it’s his goddamn choir. And yeah, we know all about your airplane and tax break. So if you have any questions about the food ask Lauryn’s Fine Catering. TMZ did and they had this to say:
“The catering company acknowledges it did not provide adequate food for ONE attendee and a social media post went viral. Kanye West and the Sunday Service collective should be disassociated with such claims surrounding the food at the event.”
If that isn’t Kris Jenner having her team klean up any kind of association to that meal? “Should be disassociated”… I think he’s disassociated plenty.
I guess Kanye gets the pass for this daylight robbery of people crazy enough to want to listen to his music anymore, since Lauryn’s Fine Catering done fell on the sword. This can’t help their reputation; serving what looks like a McDonald’s breakfast from a highway rest stop two hours from any town and once you get back to the car you realize they forgot all the condiments or napkins. Well actually, maybe they can work Ja Rule‘s next thing; he loves a do-over!
