Ah, Morgan Wallen. The country singer who was introduced to the world as “That guy who got booted from SNL for kissing random strangers during a global health pandemic,” and became “That guy who got booted from numerous radio stations for casually saying the n-word.” You can add another thing to the list of places Morgan Wallen has found himself booted from, and that’s the Billboard Music Awards. The ceremony is scheduled to be held on May 23rd, and if you were hoping to tune in and see Gen-Z’s Billy Ray Cyrus, you’ll be sorely disappointed, because he absolutely will not be there.

Last month, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association addressed the big ol’ elephant in the room when three of their members, Vice President Helen Hoehne, Chair Meher Tatna, and President Ali Sar, took to the stage at the 2021 Golden Globe Awards and promised that they’d finally get serious about diversity. Something made all the more obvious by the work that was snubbed this year. The HFPA swore they were going to do something, and they did do something. For example, the Los Angeles Times discovered that the HFPA voted not to hire a diversity consultant. That’s technically doing something, right?
Much like the rest of us, a whole lot of Hollywood PR firms are sick of hearing the HFPA cross their hearts and swear they care about their diversity problem, so they actually did something. Specifically, they instructed their clients to not go to HFPA events until they commit to real meaningful change.
The Secret Service Confirmed That John Mulaney Was Investigated Over Jokes On “Saturday Night Live”
Back in early December, during an interview with Jimmy Kimmel, John Mulaney revealed he’d been investigated by the Secret Service over a joke he made on the February 29, 2020 episode of Saturday Night Live.
In his open monologue, 38-year-old John said that Julius Caesar was such a powerful maniac that all his senators stabbed him to death. Then he added: “That would be an interesting thing if we brought that back.” Now, John insisted his joke was about Caesar, not Trump, but said the feds opened a file on him anyway. And yesterday Rolling Stone actually got their hands on that file (27 pages!) from the Secret Service.

The episode was just three days before the 2020 American Presidential Election, so naturally, John gave his thoughts on the matter. It ended up that one particular joke in his pre-election monologue kind of pissed off the internet, which isn’t necessarily the best news for a host to discover when they wake up from their post-afterparty hangover on Sunday morning. But for John Mulaney, hearing that the internet was mad about his SNL joke was very likely not nearly as worrying as his previous hosting gig in February. Because he also made a joke that seemed to be at Donald Trump’s expense in that monologue, but the people he pissed off was the Secret Service, who paid a visit to John Mulaney’s house.

It would appear that Jake Paul’s recent home raid situation might have just gotten upgraded from a “Yikes” to a full-blown “Not dope” (just trying to use slang that his 10-year-old fans would understand). Two days ago, the real-life Idiocracy character found his Calabasas home filled with dozens of federal agents, who had obtained a search warrant on his house.
At the time, the reason for why they were there was a bit of a mystery. Some thought it might have something to do with Jake’s recent conversion to The Church of LMFAO, which holds high the belief that you never stop party rocking, not even in the middle of a global pandemic. Others suspected it had something to do with illegal firearms, as many agents were seen confiscating guns from the property. TMZ believes it has everything to do with Jake’s alleged participation in the looting of an Arizona mall during Black Lives Matters protests.
