Netflix’s Newest Trailer For “Wednesday” Gives A Glimpse Of Fred Armisen As Uncle Fester and Reveals Christina Ricci’s Role
Because the current era has been unkind and unworthy of encapsulating and all of the universe’s original thoughts have apparently already been thunk, nostalgic reboots and spin-offs are at an all-time high. Paramount+ is reviving Frasier, Vh1 is bringing back The Surreal Life, Hocus Pocus 2 just unleashed hell in homes everywhere, and Netflix’s announced addition to The Addams Family franchise, Wednesday, is coming to Netflix next month. We already knew that the Tim Burton-directed series would star Catherine Zeta-Jones and Luis Guzmán as Morticia and Gomez Addams and that Jenna Ortega would play Wednesday. We also saw the cast in a teaser trailer, but a freshly dropped trailer revealed that Fred Armisen is Uncle Fester. We also get to see that Christina Ricci–who, as a child actress, played Wednesday in The Addams Family and Addams Family Values movies–has a role in the upcoming series as well.
The Teaser Trailer For Netflix’s “Wednesday” Is Here
Yesterday, we got the first look at Netflix’s Wednesday Addams series, creatively titled “Wednesday”. The show is executive produced and directed by Tim Burton and created by Smallville’s Miles Millar and Alfred Hogh. Today (a Wednesday), Netflix released the show’s first teaser trailer. It shows teenage Wednesday (Jenna Ortega) getting expelled from high school for releasing piranhas into a jock-filled pool, and her horny ol’ parents, Morticia and Gomez (Catherine Zeta-Jones and Luis Guzmán), sending her to a boarding school for outcasts run by Brienne of Tarth (Gwendoline Christie). But, uh oh! The school is being plagued by murder and spookiness! The trailer’s tone is very “everything Tim Burton’s ever done ever,” except, thankfully, there’s no Johnny Depp. Continue reading
Catherine Zeta-Jones Will Play Morticia Addams In Netflix’s “Wednesday”
Wednesday is the Tim Burton-directed Netflix series which is currently in production. The show will revolve around Wednesday Addams of The Addams Family, as she attends the Nevermore Academy solving mysteries and being a teen and such. The series stars Jenna Ortega (of the second season of You) as Wednesday who is a cute young actress who screams CW series–so clearly they needed to find a full-on vampy MILF vibe if they wanted the perfect Morticia Addams for the series. And boy did they hit the nail on the head, bitch! The unapologetically glamorous and wealthy Catherine Zeta-Jones will be the new Morticia Addams. We just know that Morticia’s going to have the perfect smokey eye thanks to CZJ’s signature pencils!
