Catherine Zeta-Jones Will Play Morticia Addams In Netflix’s “Wednesday”
Wednesday is the Tim Burton-directed Netflix series which is currently in production. The show will revolve around Wednesday Addams of The Addams Family, as she attends the Nevermore Academy solving mysteries and being a teen and such. The series stars Jenna Ortega (of the second season of You) as Wednesday who is a cute young actress who screams CW series–so clearly they needed to find a full-on vampy MILF vibe if they wanted the perfect Morticia Addams for the series. And boy did they hit the nail on the head, bitch! The unapologetically glamorous and wealthy Catherine Zeta-Jones will be the new Morticia Addams. We just know that Morticia’s going to have the perfect smokey eye thanks to CZJ’s signature pencils!
Variety says that Wednesday was created by Al Gough and Miles Millar, and will be directed by Tim Burton. It got an eight-episode order in February and the show was described as a:
“Supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy. Wednesday’s attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago–all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore.”
Sounds pretty much like Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina–hope they don’t fuck it up by the end like they did. CZJ has been cast as the sexy, raven-haired queen of the Addamses, and Luiz Guzmán of Boogie Nights and Punch Drunk Love has been cast as Gomez Addams. Netflix announced the news on their Twitter page.
Our Addams family is expanding!

This is a great casting choice in my opinion. Not only does Catherine ooze MILFy glamor, but she also brings some experience with the world of creepy. I mean, she was Kirk Douglas‘ daughter-in-law for years.
