Gayle King believes she got thrown hard under the bus by CBS when they took a wide-ranging interview she did with WNBA star Lisa Leslie about Kobe Bryant and boiled it down to a clip of her asking Lisa about Kobe’s rape charge. Well, Gayle’s best friend Oprah is here to let us know the Gayle King hate is even more ridiculous than we think. Not only are rabid Kobe stans (and Snoop Dogg) roasting her online with hate, they’re sending death threats, and so now Gayle has to travel with security.
The “American Dirt” Book Tour Was Canceled Over “Specific Threats”
Oprah Winfrey has been pissing people off lately. She dropped out of a documentary about the allegations of sexual misconduct by Russell Simmons and was accused of bowing to pressure from him. And now she’s getting dragged for deciding to cape hard for a book about the perils of Mexican immigration that was written by a woman who is not Latina. American Dirt by Jeanine Cummins, who identifies as white with Latina heritage (her paternal grandmother was born in Puerto Rico), got a 7 figure advance and is going to make tons of money thanks to Oprah featuring it on her book club.
American Dirt is about a woman who tries to cross the Mexican border into America with her child after a “drug cartel massacre”. Many have criticized it since books on the Mexican immigration experience by Latinx writers don’t get this kind of attention and money. Those who have read the book say it’s stereotypical and Jeanine gets things wrong about life in Mexico. Jeanine also got shit for what she’s said about the book (example: “I wish someone slightly browner than me would write it“) and for passing plagiarism off as “inspiration.” Not to mention her barbed wire manicure and the barbed wire floral centerpieces at her book party. The whole thing is a shit show, and now that shit show is not going on tour over safety concerns.
Oprah Is No Longer Executive-Producing The Russell Simmons Documentary
Even Oprah is susceptible to cancel culture! Oprah Winfrey was executive-producing a #MeToo documentary about hip-hop icon and alleged rapist Russell Simmons. That was until fellow celebrities like 50 Cent and The Game publicly accused her of only targeting men of color when it came to focusing on #MeToo creeps. TMZ reports that Oprah has now suddenly excused herself from the project.
Kid Rock Is Closing His Detroit Restaurant After His Anti-Oprah Rant
Kid Rock is suffering the consequences of his drunken tirade against Oprah Winfrey and others. Kid has been getting roasted by social groups, especially in Detroit where he’s been the target of the National Action Network (NAN) who planned a whole media event about it. Well, Kid has decided he can’t stand the heat and will quite literally be getting out of the kitchen. He ranted (hopefully sober this time) on Facebook saying that he’s closing his Made in Detroit restaurant at the Little Caesars Arena. And he also told Rev. Al Sharpton to screw off. Not in those words but… almost.

TMZ says that Kid Rock got absolutely shit-faced at his bar, the Honky Tonk in Nashville, Tennessee last week. And not only did he get plastered, but he got on his own stage to his own rendition of “drunken uncle at Thanksgiving dinner.” Kid Rock ranted about Oprah Winfrey, Joy Behar, and Kathie Lee Gifford, and said he’s definitely not racist… but honestly, it’s cool with him if you say he is.
Trump Claims That He And Oprah Were Practically Besties Back In The Day
