During the darkest times of the pandemic, the first season of Love Is Blind shattered through the COVID gloom as a bright light with a new and unfamiliar form of entertainment that got us through lockdown. Now, only three years later, we can say: it was a good run. The reality show fell from grace after airing a reunion that was so bad fans are petitioning (24,000 signatures and counting) to dump married couple Nick and Vanessa Lachey as LIB hosts while its contestants are voicing their own beef with the show.

Netflix’s reality dating series Love Is Blind proves that not only is love blind, but it’s also tone deaf as well. And recently, the subject of the show’s lack of body diversity was brought up during a chat with Love Is Blind co-host Vanessa Lachey, who giddily dangles her ongoing love with co-host/husband Nick Lachey in contestants’ faces during every messy episode. And apparently to be on the cast of Love Is Blind (and most dating shows) you have to look a certain way and that way does not include being plus-sized. So Vanessa is finally speaking out on that criticism by blaming the contestants for having issues with their own insecurities.
