“Love Is Blind” Fans Petition To Get Rid Of Hosts Nick And Vanessa Lachey

During the darkest times of the pandemic, the first season of Love Is Blind shattered through the COVID gloom as a bright light with a new and unfamiliar form of entertainment that got us through lockdown. Now, only three years later, we can say: it was a good run. The reality show fell from grace after airing a reunion that was so bad fans are petitioning (24,000 signatures and counting) to dump married couple Nick and Vanessa Lachey as LIB hosts while its contestants are voicing their own beef with the show.

Netflix fumbled the bag on delivering a live Love Is Blind reunion, something their inferiors, cable, has done for decades… So fans waited 19 hours for it to drop- only to be subjected to watching Vanessa Lachey awkwardly host the taping, looking like she accidentally downed a few too many cocktails while waiting to start recording. Viewers quickly took to social media to call her and Nick out for being “bad hosts” and “clearly biased” toward cast members. Audiences feel the pair, mostly Vanessa, failed to hold this season’s villains accountable while coming for contestants who fans didn’t feel were in the wrong, leaving viewers convinced it was Vanessa Lachey who was the real villain all along! [Dun dun dun!!!]

One cast member, Paul Peden, who told his ex-fiancee Micah Lussierno” at the altar, got candid with People about getting grilled by Vanessa:

Peden echoed the points made by some Twitter users — speaking from his own experience with Vanessa. “I thought that I detected a little bit of personal bias there. I’m not sure what it was,” he said.

“And I guess she’s within her right to drill on personal bias, but she shouldn’t present as being an objective neutral party if that’s the case,” he added. “But I think it’s fair to continue follow up questions. But if we’re going to go that route, we need to be able to have a full length conversation.”

And it doesn’t stop there. Past cast members talked to Insider about the show’s toxic environment:

Three cast members told Insider they had panic attacks while filming, and one said producers pressured her to stay on the show even after she confided she was having suicidal thoughts. In June 2022, the season-two cast member Jeremy Hartwell sued Netflix and the show’s production company, Kinetic Content, accusing them of labor-law violations and of subjecting contestants to “unsafe and inhumane” working conditions by depriving them of sleep, not supplying enough food and water, and providing an excess of alcohol. (Kinetic has denied Hartwell’s claims, saying they have “no merit.”)

Several contestants told Insider they were left depressed and sought therapy after filming. One even quit her job because she felt unable to return to her old life. Contestants said Netflix and Kinetic Content treated them as though they were disposable and failed to provide sufficient mental-health services while filming and in the show’s aftermath.

How is production gonna overwork their cast and not even have a great season to show for it? Lol jk. At this point, Netflix’s got a lot of fires to put out before Love Is Canceled.
