Willie Garson, Star Of “Sex And The City,” Has Died At 57
This news absolutely sucks for a variety of reasons, the biggest of which is that the Sex and the City franchise lost arguably one of its best, sweetest, most grounded in reality, least annoying characters. And by all accounts (at least by the massive outpouring of memorials from his former colleagues), Willie Garson was that too. Variety has confirmed that after a short illness, Willie Garson died yesterday at the age of 57.
Norm Macdonald Has Died At The Age Of 61
This news is bound to feel like a massive punch in the stomach to a whole lot of people, myself included, as I literally just watched Dirty Work only a few weeks ago (don’t ask me how many times I’ve seen it, I’ve lost count). Variety is reporting that legendary comedian – a description that honestly feels too short and mildly disrespectful to his legacy – Norm Macdonald, has died of cancer at the age of 61. Variety says that Norm was diagnosed nine years ago, and kept his battle private to only close friends and family, which is why this news comes as a huge shock.
Gavin MacLeod Has Died At 90
The newsroom at WJM TV and Captain’s table on the Pacific Princess just became a lot less sharp, witty, and intriguingly roiling behind the eyes, as the voice of reason and big heart that steered them both from start to finish, Gavin MacLeod, died yesterday morning at the age of 90.

The saddest possible conclusion to last week’s news of DMX’s emergency hospitalization has materialized. Despite many many prayers, good thoughts, and positive energy that were sent his way, DMX’s team is reporting that the iconic rough-voiced rapper has died.

Well, it’s the end of an era and (prepare for me to sound like I’m a British royal historian) a chapter of the British monarchy has closed. Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, who I thought would be busting moves and laying it down at his big 100th birthday party in June, died this morning at Windsor Castle at 99.
Christopher Plummer Has Died
I know they say these things happen in threes, and apparently that’s true in this case. Because in the span of a little more than a week, the universe has decided to take three Academy Award-winning icons. Joining Cloris Leachman and Cicely Tyson in heaven is Christopher Plummer, who has died at the age of 91.
