James Caan Has Died At The Age Of 82
I’ve already fully worn out my Goodfellas DVD from paying tribute to the late Ray Liotta, and it looks like The Godfather is next. Because James Caan’s family confirmed earlier today that the legendary Oscar, Golden Globe, and Emmy-nominated actor died at the age of 82 yesterday.
Broadway Legend Robert Morse Has Died At 90
As someone who is both a huge Mad Men fan, and a person who will always without fail start singing “The Company Way” whenever a fish sandwich is mentioned, this one hits pretty hard. Robert Morse, known to Broadway people as J. Pierrepont Finch, to TV people as Bert Cooper, and to record-playing kids of the 70s and 80s as Dudley Pippin, died yesterday at the age of 90.
William Hurt Has Died At 71
This is bound to hit a lot of 1980s film fans pretty hard (to be honest, this news also probably isn’t great for people who can appreciate a signature voice). Oscar-winning actor William Hurt, whose career ran over a solid four decades and covered a shockingly diverse amount of genres, has died at the age of 71.
Director Ivan Reitman Has Died At 75
This one is especially sad for anyone who spent a single Saturday of their youth watching Ghostbusters interrupted by about 30 commercials on basic cable. Ivan Reitman, the person responsible for both Ghostbusters movies, Twins, Kindergarten Cop, Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot, and tons of other movies you can likely recall with merely a flash of a VHS cover in your brain, has died at the age of 75 in California.
Tributes Pour In For Fashion Designer Virgil Abloh, Who Died At 41 After A Private Cancer Battle
Over the weekend, the internet was hit with the very sad news that extremely popular fashion designer and the men’s artistic designer for Louis Vuitton, Virgil Abloh, had died at the way too young age of 41. The cause of death was cancer, which was a diagnosis not made public until the time of his death, and it naturally shocked a whole lot of people. To the surprise of no one I’m sure, a whole lot of famous types hopped on social media to publicly grieve a career cut short for the man they likely had no idea was even ill in the first place.
Dean Stockwell Has Died At The Age Of 85
This is one of those memorial posts that could use some Quantum Leap-style time jumping to cover everything in the great Dean Stockwell’s career. Because the man was in everything, worked with everyone, appeared in work from almost every decade, literally started acting when televisions were still broadcast in black and white. And it is being reported that Dean Stockwell died on Sunday, at the age of 85.
