Johnny Depp Has Dropped Out Of The Next “Fantastic Beasts” Film
Are you an actor who needs a job? Are you familiar with the world of Harry Potter? Do you want a job where you might get to kiss Jude Law? Of course, who wouldn’t! But in this case, you have got to do it while also saying made-up wizard sounding words, and flip a magic wand around. If that all sounds good, then get your agent to forward your headshot and resume to the casting offices at Warner Bros., because Johnny Depp has stepped down from his role as Gellert Grindelwald in the third Fantastic Beasts film.
Eddie Redmayne Defended J.K. Rowling Against “Online Vitriol”
2020 J.K. Rowling recap: she’s addicted to writing transphobic tweets and “essays”, she doesn’t support cancel culture (surprise), she released a TERFy book about a cross-dressing serial killer under a pseudonym, and well, people who support trans lives are pretty much done with her ass. Even the Chosen One himself.
Back in June, Eddie Redmayne, who’s still working with J.K. on the Fantastic Beasts films, publicly stated that he disagreed with her comments, saying, “trans women are women, trans men are men and non-binary identities are valid”. But now, the actor, who portrayed trans woman Lily Elbe in 2015’s The Danish Girl, told The Daily Mail that he thinks the backlash J.K. received is “absolutely disgusting”. The “online vitriol” aimed against the author actually prompted him to send her a personal letter. Um, what did it say, “I’m sorry not everyone loves TERF billionaires”?
JK Rowling’s New Book Is About A Man Who Dresses Up As A Woman To Kill People
#RIPJKRowling trended on Twitter today, and not because she actually died. That hashtag trended after Twitter found out that her latest book is about a cis man who crossdresses when killing women. I know, such a completely original plot, and since everyone knows how JK (which for me, stands for Jesus KanYouStop) feels about trans people, this feels like she’s spewing out some anti-trans symbolic fuckery. So, no, JK isn’t dead, she’s just killing the nerves of many again.
JK Rowling Was One Of The Public Figures That Signed The Cancel Cancel Culture Open Letter
In an attempt to continue on with her beloved transphobic tirades (sans all those pesky consequences), J.K. Rowling, along with a bunch of other very serious academics and authors, has signed “a letter on justice and open debate” condemning cancel culture. It was published yesterday on the Harper’s Magazine website.
J.K. Rowling Thinks That Too Many Kids Are Being “Converted” Into Being Trans
I know that every reality we knew prior to January has completely changed, but a couple people were inching towards 2020 energy back in 2019, like J.K. Rowling. Which is all too bad, because I think we can all agree she was much better when she was suing her former assistant for blowing money on body wash and cats. This current J.K. Rowling has a whole lot to say about trans people, and literally none of it is any good. It’s almost like a crappy, hateful wizard has cursed J.K. with a spell to completely tarnish what remained of her legacy. Well (dramatic wand swirl) Plentificus Transphobious, she’s once again talking trans issues in a pretty problematic way.
Eddie Redmayne Talks About J.K. Rowling’s Anti-Trans Tweets, While J.K. Issues A Response To The Hate She Got
J.K. Rowling continues to have a whole lot to say about trans people on Twitter. And her thoughts have more than one former cast member from the Harry Potter universe publicly calling her out. Personally, I’m waiting for Hagrid to hop on Instagram Live and say the words, “Yer a transphobe, Joanne.” But that hasn’t happened yet. So far we’ve heard from Harry Potter himself, Daniel Radcliffe, and now we’re hearing what Eddie Redmayne thinks about it.
