A Judge Has Refused Harvey Weinstein’s $19 Million Settlement
Two weeks ago, another one of Harvey Weinstein’s many lawsuits was wrapped up into a tidy, yet gross, package, when the New York Attorney General’s office announced that an $18,875,000 compensation fund would be set up for nine of Harvey’s victims. Harvey’s settlements are being covered by his insurance company. But it’s now being reported that US District Court Judge Alvin Hellerstein released a statement today saying that he’s not going to approve that settlement, so someone better come up with a Plan B.

The New York Attorney General’s office announced yesterday that an $18,875,000 compensation fund will be set up for nine women who filed a 2017 civil rights lawsuit against convicted rapist Harvey Weinstein for, well – being Harvey. Of course, that’s not the official language that was used in their lawsuit. Although I feel like if you presented that argument in a formal legal setting any time after 2017, most people in the courtroom would say, “No, gotcha – I totally get what you’re saying.”

Harvey Weinstein Has Been Hit With A New Lawsuit
Ever since Harvey Weinstein was convicted of rape back in March, he’s been holed up in his prison cell in his home for the next 23 years, Wende Correctional in Upstate New York. The city of Los Angeles is trying to arrange a little out-of-state trip for Harvey to deal with additional sex crime charges, but the start date of that trip has been postponed due to COVID-19.
Whenever Harvey makes it to Los Angeles, he can rest assured that things will be an even bigger headache for him when he gets back to New York state. Because Deadline is reporting that Harvey has been hit with a lawsuit filed recently in New York by four women, all accusing Harvey of assault and rape. And one of those victims was underage when her alleged rape happened.
