Jamie Lee Curtis And Arnold Schwarzenegger Were The Only Celebrities Involved With The 2022 Golden Globes Last Night
The 79th Annual Golden Globe Awards were shaping up to be such a sad, unglamorous mess, they might as well have been officially nicknamed the Tinfoil-wrapped Globes. About a week prior to the show, it was rumored that not a single celebrity had agreed to participate in what was very recently one of the most star-studded events on the Hollywood awards show calendar. And as expected, there really weren’t any famous faces involved in the ceremony, except for two. Jamie Lee Curtis showed up in a pre-taped segment for the HFPA’s advocacy work and Arnold Schwarzenegger did a video where he praised the organization for trying to be more diverse. I’d ask what Jamie Lee Curtis is doing involved with such a shit show, but then I remembered her work with Activia yogurt, so navigating a shit-show is kind of in her wheelhouse.
No Celebrities Have Agreed To Appear At The 2022 Golden Globe Awards
Well, it’s almost as though people will eventually realize that a corrupt, sexist, diversity-snubbing awards show isn’t where they want their faces seen, and they’ll stop answering the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s phone calls. At least that’s what appears to have happened with the 2022 Golden Globes, which are scheduled to happen on January 9th. And oh what a night it shall be! It’s not airing on television, and no famous people are involved.

Just because you’re broke and ugly, that doesn’t mean you have cornered the market on suffering. If you prick a celebrity, do they not bleed? Well they do — profusely, dramatically and off-key. Sure, the last couple of years may have been hard on everyone, but it’s been particularly hard on actors who’ve had their very livelihoods upturned by the ravages the coronavirus has taken on the global box office as well having to have witnessed the downfall of one of their most beloved institutions of affirmation, The Golden Globes. But even though NBC decided not to air the 2022 ceremony due to the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s “lack of diversity and shoddy ethical practices,” Variety reports that the “beleaguered and scandal-plagued” HFPA has gone ahead and enlisted Snoop Dogg to read aloud their nominees, I guess because he was the only Black celebrity they could get on such short notice. Because as we know, Scarlett Johansson’s sick of being their token and wants nothing more to do with them.
