This Year’s Razzie Nominations Are Here, And Tom Hanks Is A Triple Nominee

January 23, 2023 / Posted by:

The 2023 Razzie nominations are here, and poor Tom Hanks scored three nominations: Worst Actor for Disney’s Pinocchio, Worst Supporting Actor for Elvis, and Worst Screen Couple for Tom and his “Latex-Laden Face (and Lubricous Accent)” in Elvis. From double Oscar winner to triple Razzie nominee. Bummer. On the bright side, Tom isn’t the only guy with three noms: Colson Baker, aka Machine Gun Kelly, was also nominated thrice for Worst Actor, Worst Director, and Worst Screen Couple (with Avril Lavigne’s fiancé, Mod Sun) for the stoner comedy, Good Mourning (0% on Rotten Tomatoes). Tom Hanks and MGK: industry equals!

Even though Good Mourning picked up seven nods, including Worst Picture, it wasn’t the most nominated film. That distinction goes to the Marilyn Monroe biopic, Blonde, with eight nods. While Ana de Armas is not up for Worst Actress, the movie itself is nominated for Worst Picture, Worst Director, and Worst Screenplay. Pinocchio is up for six awards, and the Jared Leto vampire stinker Morbius snagged five, including Worst Actor for the cult leader himself. Sylvester Stallone is also nominated for Worst Actor for his performance in Samaritan, and Pete Davidson rounds out the category for his voice role as Marmaduke in Marmaduke. Pete was also nominated for Worst Supporting Actor for his cameo in Good Mourning. Ah, I see the Razzies still haven’t followed Adidas’ lead and booted Kanye West off their awards committee.

The gals nominated for Worst Actress are Bryce Dallas Howard (Jurassic Park: Dominion), Diane Keaton (Mack & Rita), Kaya Scodelario (The King’s Daughter), Alicia Silverstone (The Requin), and 12-year-old Ryan Kiera Armstrong (Firestarter). Yep, they nominated a kid. So if you thought the Razzies were going soft after they rescinded Bruce Willis’ 2021 Razzie for the category “Worst Performance by Bruce Willis in 2021” following the actor’s aphasia diagnosis… they are very much not.
