Jamie Spears Has Finally Agreed To Step Down As Britney’s Conservator (UPDATE: Or Has He?)

UPDATE: Well that celebration lasted for about one second because Jamie Spears’ attorney tells NBC News that he’s not resigning at this time but “is willing to step down when the time is right, but the transition needs to be orderly and include a resolution of matters pending before the Court.” Insert one million OprahSoWhatIsTheTruth.GIFs here.

UPDATE II: The Hollywood Reporter adds that Jamie Spears has agreed to step down in the future but there’s no timeline for when that will happen. It will be discussed at a hearing on September 29.

Here’s the original post:

Any one of my exes will tell you that I deserve the award for Trick Who Can’t Take The Biggest Of Hints for not knowing that I’ve been dumped. But that award belongs to Jamie Spears because for a while now, Britney Spears has blatantly let him know that she wants him around as much as she wants a Frapp with no whip. But Daddy Spears finally got a clue and has resigned as Britney’s co-conservator. To which Britney will probably reply with, “You better work, bitch, no seriously, bitch, you better work because you ain’t getting any more easy money from me!

In June, Britney told the court that she wants out of her 13-year conservatorship, and at the very least, she wants her father out as her co-conservator because he’s an abusive and controlling monster who only sees her as an ATM. And after Britney won the right to choose her own lawyer, her new attorney, Mathew Rosengart, filed papers to request that Daddy Spears be dropped as her co-conservator. Daddy Spears was in charge of Britney’s money while Jodi Montgomery is in charge of Britney “the person.” Jodi Montgomery agreed that Daddy Spears should step down as co-conservator. But he wasn’t going to go down without a fight. Last week, he filed papers claiming that Jodi called him last month to say that Britney is “mentally sick” and should be put on another 5150 psychiatric hold. Jodi shot back, saying that he needs to stop with the attacks and get the fuck out already. And Daddy Spears has done just that.

TMZ says that in court documents that were filed by Daddy Spears’ lawyer today, he says that even though there’s no good reason for him to leave his cushy position as his daughter’s co-conservator, he’s going to step down for the sake of her wellbeing.

“There are, in fact, no actual grounds for suspending or removing Mr. Spears as the Conservator of the Estate … and it is highly debatable whether a change in conservator at this time would be in Ms. Spears’ best interests. Nevertheless, even as Mr. Spears is the unremitting target of unjustified attacks, he does not believe that a public battle with his daughter over his continuing service as her conservator would be in her best interests. So, even though he must contest this unjustified Petition for his removal, Mr. Spears intends to work with the Court and his daughter’s new attorney to prepare for an orderly transition to a new conservator.

Regardless of his formal title, Mr. Spears will always be Ms. Spears’ father, he will always love her unconditionally, and he will always look out for her best interests.”

Daddy Spears also licked his own ass by saying that 13 years ago, he saved his daughter from leeches (see: Sam Lutfi) who were taking advantage of her mental state at the time. And as Daddy Spears made his way to the exit door while carrying his things in a cardboard box, he made sure to get in a few parting shots. Namely, he went after Britney’s mom Lynne Spears. Through most of Britney’s conservatorship, Lynne has been quiet, but recently, she’s been backing Britney up in court. Daddy Spears thinks that’s funny because according to him, Lynne hasn’t really been a part of Britney’s life for the last 13 years. He added that in 2019 when Britney was in a mental health facility, she refused to see her mother.

Britney’s lawyer, Mathew Rosengart, said in a statement that they’re happy that Daddy Spears is finally out and will continue to put their magnifying glasses over the books to see how he spent his daughter’s money.
