Britney Spears Cartwheels For Joy After Winning The Right To Choose Her Own Lawyer

We’ve done a full 180 on seeing screaming “Leave Britney alone!” as overly dramatic or demented and now consider it the only appropriate response to literally anything going on with Britney Spears‘ 13-year conservatorship. 39-year-old Britney has mostly been under her father’s, 68-year-old Jamie Spears, control since 2008. Last month, Britney told the court many things including that she wants to pick her own lawyer, wants out of her conservatorship, and really wants her “abusive” and “cruel” father out as co-conservator.

There was another hearing yesterday, and she once again spoke out against her father’s cruelty saying she wanted to charge him with conservatorship abuse and have him investigated. And she did so with her brand-spanking-new lawyer who is ready to kick in teeth, which had Brit Brit so happy she cartwheeled for joy!

Us Weekly says that yesterday, Britney appeared in the hearing via phone call to request that she choose her new lawyer after her court-appointed lawyer, Sam Ingham, quit. Britney wanted to replace Sam with Mathew Rosengarta former federal prosecutor–to take over. The judge in the conservatorship, Judge Brenda Penny, approved the change. Britney also broke down over what she’s allegedly endured at the hands of her father and said she was “extremely scared” of him. She called her conservatorship “fucking cruelty” and even claimed she had such limitations (beyond allegedly not being allowed to take out her IUD) that she wasn’t allowed to drink coffee. Wasn’t allowed to get a shot of espresso in her Frapp?! Jail them all! She said in part:

“I’m here to get rid of my dad and charge him with conservatorship abuse… This conservatorship has allowed my dad to ruin my life… If this isn’t abuse, I don’t know what is. … I thought they were trying to kill me… I would like to charge my father with conservatorship abuse. I want to press charges against my father today. I want an investigation into my dad.”

Mathew also chimed in and had Britney’s back by saying, “If [Jamie Spears] loves his daughter, it is time to step aside–to move forward.

During the court hearing, Britney also mentioned how her fans have really helped her get to the place she is today, saying:

“[They are] remarkably strong and talented… it’s because of them I am here today, it’s because of them I have the fucking strength to speak up against my family who have silenced me & my fans for years… I want to work on getting my confidence back and getting back into the real world.”

Britney celebrated her court success by taking to Instagram, posting a video of her horseback riding and cartwheeling around freely. Emphasis on “freely” because Britney hashtagged #FreeBritney!

Ariana Grande got in the comments to support saying: “YOU ARE SO VERY LOVED AND SUPPORTED.” And Britney’s man-piece who’s been steadily against Jamie, Sam Asghari, wrote, “Internet is about to explode #freebritney.”

If Britney busts out cartwheels over being able to choose her own attorney, imagine what she’s going to do when/if the court takes a hammer to her chains and frees her from her conservatorship? The planet is going to spin something extra as she furiously pulls out flip after flip while making her way to the doctor to get that damn IUD taken out.
