Britney Spears’ New Attorney Filed To Have Jamie Spears Removed As Conservator

The #FreeBritney crowd’s thirst for Jamie Spears‘ blood has only increased as more information came out about Britney Spears‘ harrowing 13-year conservatorship. TMZ says that Britney’s new lawyer, Matt Rosengart, is on the case. He’s filed legal documents to finally remove Daddy Spears from Britney’s conservatorship and accused Daddy Spears of stripping Britney of “dignity, autonomy and fundamental liberties.” And also her money! But I guess you can’t put “stole her bag,” in a legal document, right? Well, Cardi B would…
In the documents, Matt Rosengart goes hard after Daddy Spears, claiming he terrorized his daughter and forced her into medical treatments and drug regimens that were allegedly harmful, all the while pocketing her hard-earned dollars. via TMZ:
The docs also challenge Jamie’s management of the conservatorship, claiming he’s made a king’s ransom over the last 13 years. He gets $16,000 a month plus $2k a month for office expenses. He also got 1.5% of the gross revenues from her Vegas residency … which brought in $137.7 million. The docs say Jamie’s cut alone was at least $2.1 mil. The docs go on to say Jamie got $2.95% from Britney’s 2011 Femme Fatale tour … an estimated $500k.
The documents also paint Jamie as being bad with money because the family “struggled financially under his leadership and filed for bankruptcy in 1998.” Britney also called working with her dad “traumatizing.”
The docs claim Britney’s life has been upended by the conflict she has with her dad. The docs say they don’t speak and the current situation is “traumatizing, insane and depressing.”
The docs call the relationship “venomous” and “it impairs Ms. Spears’s mental health, her well-being, and her ability to pursue and continue with her extraordinary career.”
And the documents say that Britney is not in the same place she was 13 years ago during her breakdown:
“Since receiving professional medical care at the outset of this conservatorship over thirteen years ago, Ms. Spears is clearly in a different place now, and she has been for many years. The entire world has witnessed Ms. Spears working tirelessly — with astonishing dedication, precision, and excellence — as a musical artist and performer, an exceptional earner for Mr. Spears (and others) who had a financial interest in making sure she would continue to work and perform.”
And to put a big Period on the end of that sentence, TMZ says Britney’s financials were listed too:
The docs list Britney’s cash assets at $2,730,454, and her non-cash assets at $57,666,398. This is almost certainly not her complete financial portfolio. There are a lot of Morgan Stanley accounts listed, and real property (homes) are valued at $8,455,483.
And the documents quoted a Forbes article which noted that Britney’s net worth is “shockingly low,” considering what she’s earned during her career. But that’s not all, TMZ says that mama Lynne Spears was part of those anti-Jamie filings and supports Britney’s petition to get him out as conservator:
Lynne says she became involved in the conservatorship in May 2019 during a “time of crisis” for which she clearly blames Jamie, saying he had “absolute control” over Britney’s money and health decisions.
Lynne claims Jamie hired a doctor to treat Britney, but she and many others believe the doc was prescribing her “inappropriate medicine” she didn’t want to take and forced her to enter a health facility after threatening punishment if she resisted.
According to the docs … Lynne says with the conservatorship in place, the relationship between Britney and her father has “dwindled to nothing but fear and hatred” of Jamie.
But sources say that Britney might not be that impressed with Lynne helping her out suddenly:
Britney can’t stand her mom as well and they’ve been estranged for years. Britney also blames Lynne for her current circumstances.
Britney has also picked a money master named Jason Rubin as her choice for her dad’s replacement as her co-conservator:
Rubin is a CPA with lots of credentials which Rosengart presumably believes is perfectly suited to handle Britney’s contracts and other business affairs.
Rubin has experience handling financial, elder abuse litigation and has managed complex trust portfolios … this according to his website.
This all presumes, of course, that Rosengart and Britney can force the removal of Jamie as conservator of her estate. According to the docs, obtained by TMZ, Rubin would have all financial authority to manage Britney’s estate, along with powers of attorney to make health care decisions, and manage real estate.
The powers of attorney are interesting. Health care decisions have been vested in the conservator of Britney’s person … currently Jodi Montgomery
According to the docs, Britney and Rosengart also want Rubin to prosecute civil harassment restraining orders.
This is only the first phase of the plan; Matt wants to remove Jamie and then end the conservatorship completely. A hearing about Britney’s conservatorship has been set for September 29.
Matt spoke outside the court afterward and thanked Britney for her strength, and her fans for their support but didn’t answer questions. And members of the #FreeBritney movement, including Courtney Love, are already thirsting for Matt:
