Alex Rodriguez Is Launching A Makeup Line For Men

May 22, 2021 / Posted by:

I don’t know why Alex Rodriguez always looks like an ovoid Pikachu getting pitched into the sun, but he and his signature camera squint are here to tell us about his new product line, and it’s poised to help erase the rivulets of tears he and his dining room chairs have been crying over his recent breakup with Jennifer Lopez. (JLo:  “Speaking of grieving furniture, how about the tears our bed was crying when your free-agent peen was up to bat in other women’s infields?“)

Some think that A-Rod’s new manly makeup line is a diss against JLo’s beauty collection, but this was something planned while they were still together and pouncing on more power-couple business opportunities.

Following his breakup with Jennifer Lopez, Alex Rodriguez is going for a glow up.

The former baseball pro, 45, teamed up with Hims & Hers — the beauty and wellness company in which he and Lopez, 51, became investors together last year — to develop the brand’s first makeup for men.

“I wanted to create a product that solved an issue I faced every day. I realized as I was jumping from meeting to meeting, I needed something quick and easy in my routine to conceal blemishes or razor bumps,” Rodriguez shared on Instagram Thursday.

Several of my non-women friends and probably some of yours, already use concealer and foundation to deal with face breakouts and other issues, so this isn’t exactly groundbreaking, but having a famous male athlete behind the brand can definitely give a feeling of permission for those uncomfortable with the idea, so it’ll be interesting to see how successful this campaign will be.

Here’s a clip on the product launch:

Meanwhile, the return of the original Bennifer is stunt-queening along. After JLo and Ben Affleck returned from their recent trip to Montana, they’ve been seen together in L.A. and “a source” noted the following, per Us Weekly:

“As soon as [Jennifer] and Ben started talking again, it became very clear to both of them that the old magic and special connection was still there,” the source tells Us. “Then when they met up again all bets were off.”

The insider notes that the Massachusetts native and the Hustlers star have been “making up for lost time” as friends and on a romantic level over the last month. The pair haven’t, however, been spotted together in over a week.

“The attraction is hot, and that goes for both of them,” the insider explains. “Ben is just in awe of how beautiful Jen still is, both inside and out. He sees how she’s grown as a person, and the way in which she’s taken care of her body totally blows his mind.”

So that’s a lot for an emotional A-Rod to process, and it probably didn’t help that JLo reportedly called him out as being “needy.” But there’s nothing like burying your sorrows in a pile of work to make you forget, albeit briefly, the cruel turns of fate.

The comments on his Twitter feed about the makeup launch are mixed, and there was a sarcastic mention of purple lipstick (which I really want to see happen here), but let’s wait and see exactly which men out there are willing to crawl out from the woodwork to blur their gnarled facial bits and make the world a less bumpy place:
