Josh Duggar Has Been Charged With Receiving And Possessing Child Pornography

Last night, we learned that Josh Duggar had been arrested in Arkansas, and was being held in federal custody. We didn’t know why at the time, and Michael K, who reported the news, threw out several guesses, like money laundering (which would be very on-brand for the Duggars), or child porn (which would be on-brand for Josh). Well,¬†Josh Duggar has formally been charged with receiving and possessing child porn. Jill Duggar has probably never been more grateful that she stopped taking her family’s phone calls.

KARK and KNWA have all the details, and they broke the news that Anna Duggar’s 33-year-old husband Josh Duggar, one-time reality TV star, full-time creep, and father to half a dozen children under the age of eleven, was charged “by indictment with receiving and possessing child pornography” in Arkansas. So, two counts: one for the receiving, and one for the possession. He has pleaded not guilty. Best of luck to his attorneys, who absolutely have their work cut out for them. And by “them,” I really mean their gag reflexes, because the allegations against Josh will make you want to barf, then cry, then barf again.

Duggar had a first appearance before U.S. District Court Western District of Arkansas Judge Erin Wiedemann via Zoom on Friday morning, April 30, 2021. If convicted, he faces up to 20 years of imprisonment and fines up to $250,000 on each count.

According to court documents, Duggar allegedly used the internet to download child sexual abuse material. Duggar allegedly possessed this material, some of which depicts the sexual abuse of children under the age of 12.

This is made all the more awful when you take a look at Josh’s smirking face in his mugshot.

After Josh was arrested, he was placed on a federal hold with no bail. Josh Duggar has to remain in custody until a detention hearing on May 5th. A judge has requested that he have a third-party custodian to watch him while he’s released, as he – you guessed it – can’t legally be around children at this time. Josh and Anna have six children, and just days ago announced they’re expecting a 7th child, a girl. Josh has been married to Anna for 12 years, and she stuck by his side through his admission of molesting his sisters, a porn addiction, and getting caught looking for side-pieces on But who knows if two child porn charges will be the final arrow that breaks the quiver.

Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar released a statement today about Josh’s arrest and charges on their personal website,, and it sounds like they want this situation wrapped up as soon as legally possible:

“We appreciate your continued prayers for our family at this time. The accusations brought against Joshua today are very serious. It is our prayer that the truth, no matter what it is, will come to light, and that this will all be resolved in a timely manner. We love Josh and Anna and continue to pray for their family.

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar”

As I mentioned above, Jill Duggar is reportedly estranged from her family at the moment. But People magazine reached out to her for a comment, and she and her husband Derick Dillard had this to say:

“We just found out this information yesterday. It is very sad.”

Yeah, it is sad – sad they didn’t get Josh’s ass sooner. Like six years ago, when Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar went on TV and covered for him. Very sad indeed!
