Here’s The Trailer For The Netflix’s “Operation Varsity Blues” Documentary

Please hold some space in your heart today for Olivia Jade. The official trailer for Netflix’s hybrid documentary Operation Varsity Blues: The College Admission Scandal is out, forcing Olivia to once again disable the comments on her Instagram page. But that’s not the worst of it. Not only did she not get a part in the doc, but this doc is also not a Hallmark movie called Stop Ruining My Life Mom!: The Olivia Jade Story starring Olivia Jade as herself. Instead, the movie features recreations of the conversations captured by the FBI between Rick Singer, played here by Matthew Modine, and the rich parents who partnered with him to get their kids into elite colleges and also USC. That means whoever is going to be playing the voice of Felicity Huffman going “ruh roh is going to be the real star of the show (fingers crossed), and from the looks of it, Olivia’s mom and dad, Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli, have been relegated to the background.

Variety reports:

Netflix shines an unflattering light on the infamous college admissions scandal in the first trailer for the upcoming documentary “Operation Varsity Blues.”

The film, using real conversations recreated from FBI wiretaps, delves deep into the 2019 nationwide scandal that gripped the country and saw rich and influential parents buy their kids’ ways into top schools.

“Operation Varsity Blues” premieres on the streaming service on March 17. It was directed Chris Smith, the filmmaker behind Netflix’s documentary “Fyre: The Greatest Party That Never Happened.” Smith also executive produced “Tiger King,” the Netflix breakout sensation that started streaming in the early days of the pandemic.

All I know is they better make sure the Hot Pocket heiress has a featured role otherwise I’ve had the what are ya gonna pick (Hot Pockets!) jingle stuck in my head for an entire year for no good reason. Here’s the trailer.

Great, now I have a mash-up of the Hot Pockets theme and Way Down in the Hole from The Wire stuck in my head. Not gonna lie, it kinda slaps. The trailer, not so much. Who cares about boring-ass regular rich people!?! We want Lori and Liv! Show us the crew pictures again, you cowards!
