Prince William Is Reportedly “Sad And Shocked” About Prince Harry’s Exit Statement

February 22, 2021 / Posted by:

Last week, the thing we all saw coming came at us when Buckingham Palace confirmed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were officially never returning to their roles within the Royal Family. Harry and Meghan will continue with their roles as multi-millionaire content creators for Netflix and Spotify and whoever else wants to throw money at Queen Elizabeth’s most misdirected source of descendant disappointment. The statement about Harry and Meghan’s permanent exit was made by Buckingham Palace. Harry and Meghan issued a response, the tone of which some people have taken as a wee bit petty. Prince William is apparently one of them, and he’s just simply horrified, disgusted, and downright aghast by Harry’s undignified behavior.

Buckingham Palace’s statement confirmed Harry and Meghan are out, and that Harry’s honorary military appointments and their patronages and charities would be returned to The Queen, who will divvy them out to other royals. Harry and Meghan replied to that, saying, “We can all live a life of service. Service is universal.” Which is essentially saying that just because The Queen took back their charities, doesn’t mean their charity work is dunzo. That little added bit about how regular ol’ people can still live a life of service didn’t sit well with Prince William. A source close to William tells The Sunday Times that William believes Harry acted out of turn by getting the final word. via People magazine:

According to The Sunday Times report, sources close to William said he’s “very upset by what has happened,” and found Harry and Meghan’s behavior “insulting and disrespectful.”

“You don’t answer the Queen back – it’s just not done,” added another Sunday Times source.

What about when The Queen is three gins deep at a wedding reception and decides to do some crowd work by grabbing the DJ’s mic and yelling, “When I say Common, you say Wealth – COMMON (points mic to the audience).” What then? Maybe that’s the exception to the rule.

The source adds that William and Harry still aren’t really on speaking terms and that Harry’s exit is still a sore spot between the two. But he allegedly believes they’ll one day be friends again.

“It’s still raw,” a friend of William’s told The Sunday Times. “He’s very upset by what has happened, though absolutely intent that he and Harry’s relationship will heal in time.”

So we know that William is sick to death about Harry and Meghan’s rebuttal statement, but how does The Queen feel? We’ve got a better chance of seeing Prince Philip do the Buss It Challenge at his 100th birthday party than we do of hearing The Queen’s real thoughts on the matter. But maybe someone in Buckingham Palace has a shady bone in their body. Because The Queen will speak in a TV address ahead of Commonwealth Day on March 7th, the exact same day as Harry and Meghan’s big 90-minute CBS television interview with Oprah Winfrey. via Page Six:

Unlike last year’s Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey, which marked the final royal appearance for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, this year’s plans have been scrapped due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Queen will instead share her message in a program that will air on BBC One. The TV special is also said to include prominent royals, including Prince Charles, Prince William and Kate Middleton.

The Queen’s TV appearance will air just a few hours before Harry and Meghan’s interview with Oprah. So they won’t be in direct competition with each other. But I’m sure The Queen’s people are working hard to make sure her TV appearance is the real ratings-grabbing juggernaut so that Buckingham Palace can really get the final word over Harry and Meghan. Maybe they can tease a dramatic reality TV-style reveal at the end of the special. “And later in the show, the paternity test that proves once and for all who fathered all of The Queen’s dogs. You won’t want to miss this!
