The Carters Were Seen Hanging Out With The Kardashian-Wests Again
Back in October, John Legend let it be known that he and Chrissy Teigen weren’t exactly the closest friends with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, and just like that, it seemed as though Kim and Kanye’s A-list couple friend count dropped to zero. Their best options were now limited to Kris Jenner and Cory Gamble, or Jonathan Cheban and a $450 plate of gold-dusted chicken nuggets. But according to Us Weekly, Beyoncé and Jay-Z were kind enough to sit and socialize with Kim and Kanye this weekend at Diddy’s 50th birthday party.
Diddy threw himself a party at his home in Los Angeles on Saturday evening, and he clearly didn’t want to force his extra-rich and super-famous guests to mingle with those several social levels below. So he reportedly sectioned off part of his home as a VIP area where the best of the best could party without accidentally brushing up against someone who flies commercial.
A source tells Us Weekly that that VIP section included Beyoncé and Jay-Z, as well as nearly all the Kardashian-Jenners (and some former KUWTK side-plots like Tyga, Travis Scott, and Ray J). Apparently things weren’t weird. Well, at least as long as Beyoncé wasn’t heard wondering, “So this is what goes for VIP these days?”
A source tells Us Weekly exclusively that the foursome hung out together in the VIP section of the party at Diddy’s home in Los Angeles. “They greeted each other and seemed friendly and happy to see each other. The Carters and the Wests were all in a section behind Diddy and his family,” the onlooker revealed.
And it could have been very, very weird. Back in 2016, Kanye publicly came for Beyoncé and Jay-Z during performances on his Saint Pablo tour. A year later, Kanye ditched Tidal. Jay-Z always remained generally pretty diplomatic when talking about Kanye, but it seemed like that friendship was essentially nothing more than bridge ash and fire extinguisher dust at this point. But at Diddy’s party, Kanye and Jay-Z even posed for a picture together. Sure, they were separated by Diddy himself, but at least no one had to be Photoshopped in.
Diddy also posted pictures of Kim and Kanye together, as well as another picture with Jay-Z. Notably absent from the gallery was a picture of Beyoncé, but she later Instagrammed a picture of herself and Jay-Z from that evening.
However, it’s important to remember that only Beyoncé releases pictures of Beyoncé. Someone could be seen taking a picture near Beyoncé as she was dancing with Kelly Rowland and Saweetie, which prompted Jay-Z to grab their phone away. Okay, the Beyhive totally just got very suspicious again.
It would appear that the only picture missing really, is one featuring the happy reunion of Carters and the Kardashian-Wests. I have a feeling that was intentionally, honestly. Even with Kim begging, “Please Beyoncé! We’re desperately trying to pivot my brand away from Tacky Hooker, and exposure to your Classy Legitimacy would really help that!” But Beyoncé can’t run the risk of possibly appearing in promotional material for Kanye’s megachurch. It would be a conflict of interest. Kanye thinks he’s God. The Beyhive believes Beyoncé was anointed by God. So does that mean Kanye created Beyoncé? It’s a paradox that would trigger a crisis of faith, and no one needs that so close to the holidays.
