Alec Baldwin Claims That He’s Not Responsible For Halyna Hutchins’ Death

December 3, 2021 / Posted by:

As teased yesterday, Alec Baldwin sat down with ABC News and George Stephanopoulos for his first one-on-one interview about the horrific death on the New Mexico set of the western film Rust, in which the gun he was allegedly just holding went off, killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injuring director Joel Souza. What we gathered from the promo released yesterday was Alec claiming he never fired the gun (that it simply went off in his hand), that he had no idea how a live round made its way into the antique firearm, and that it was the worst day of his life. There’s more, including Alec’s choice to talk about this situation, rather than wait and save it for court, and that he doesn’t feel any guilt for what happened, because he believes it’s someone’s fault, just not his.

Alec Baldwin Says He Never Pulled The Trigger On The Gun That Killed Halyna Hutchins

December 2, 2021 / Posted by:

Alec Baldwin has sat down for his first official interview since a loaded prop gun was discharged on the set of the western film Rust in Santa Fe, NM, which injured director Joel Souza and killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. I’m saying it’s his first official interview because I’m pretty sure that messy roadside chat with the paps in Vermont would be no publicist’s suggestion of a good idea. So about six weeks after the devastating – and allegedly very much preventable – tragedy on the set of Rust, Alec is speaking his side of things to ABC News and George Stephanopoulos, and he claims that yes technically he was holding the gun when it went off, but he never deliberately pulled the trigger.

The Flood Gates Are Open: The First “Rust” Lawsuit Has Been Filed Against Alec Baldwin And Others Who Worked On The Movie

November 10, 2021 / Posted by:

The first of what will surely be many more lawsuits to come has been filed against Alec Baldwin, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, and Dave Halls over the accidental shooting death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of the western Rust. According to TMZ, Serge Svetnoy, a gaffer on the production who was there that day, has filed the suit “claiming the defendants’ alleged negligence caused him severe emotional distress in the aftermath of it all.” As we know, Alec pulled the trigger on the gun that sent a bullet through Haylna’s body and into director Joel Souza’s shoulder. As armorer, Hannah loaded the gun and Dave handed it to Alec claiming it was “cold,” indicating that it did not contain live rounds. Tragically that was not the case. In fact, NBC News reports that the Santa Fe District Attorney announced today that police found “additional live rounds” among the 500 rounds of ammunition that were collected in the days following the incident.

Alec Baldwin Talked About The Fatal Shooting Of Halyna Hutchins During An Impromptu Press Conference With The Paps

October 31, 2021 / Posted by:

It’s been a little over a week since cinematography Halyna Hutchins died after Alec Baldwin shot her with a gun he reportedly thought was “cold” (meaning the gun had no live ammunition in it) during a rehearsal on the set of the western Rust in Santa Fe, NM. Shortly after the horrible accident, Alec tweeted that he was heartbroken and was offering support to Halyna’s husband Matthew Hutchins and their son. Alec’s also been retweeting articles about how he was told the gun was “cold” before it was handed to him. Alec has been in Vermont with his wife Hilaria Baldwin and their six children, and TMZ says that the paparazzi have been on their asses like naranja on Spanish rice. So Alec decided to give them a little something to get them off of him since his children were crying in the car. So Alec gave a roadside press conference that was equal parts awkward and weird. Hilaria joined Alec and acted as his bodyguard/publicist/lawyer and while filming the paps on her phone, she repeatedly tried to jump in to either tell Alec to shush or to answer a question for him. And sometimes when Hilaria jumped in, Alec snapped at her to step off. How do you say in English… cringeworthy?

The District Attorney Says That Criminal Charges Are “On The Table” In The Accidental Shooting Death Of Halyna Hutchins On The Set Of Alec Baldwin’s Western “Rust”

October 27, 2021 / Posted by:

It’s been almost a week since the accidental shooting death of Halyna Hutchins, the director of photography on the film Rust, and each new detail revealed has been more horrifying than the last. In a joint press conference today held by the Santa Fe County Sheriff and the local district attorney, it was confirmed that Alec Baldwin fired a “suspected live round” that traveled through Halyna’s body, killing her, and lodged in the shoulder of director Joel Souza, injuring him. Scarier still, according to CNN, 500 rounds of ammunition were recovered from the scene, some possibly additional live rounds, in addition to three firearms including the gun Alec shot, and “the spent shell casing from the bullet that was fired from the gun.” While the DA won’t yet say what charges might be filed against whom, they did say that “everything at this point, including criminal charges, is on the table.

Several Mistakes Were Reportedly Made That Resulted In Alec Baldwin Firing A Loaded Weapon On The Set Of “Rust”

October 25, 2021 / Posted by:

After the news broke that 42-year-old director of photography Halyna Hutchins had died on the set of the film Rust, due to an unintentional gunshot fired by Alec Baldwin, there were roughly a million and one questions about how something like that could have happened. Well, we’re getting more and more information about what allegedly might have contributed to one woman losing her life, and the director Joel Souza ending up in the hospital with critical injuries. We have since been told that there were numerous issues on the set of Rust, and that production was so messy that numerous crew members walked off the set. TMZ has some new information, and it’s all a huge bummer that makes this situation feel like it was entirely preventable. The gun likely wasn’t double-checked before it was handed to Alec Baldwin, and apparently live rounds were being used for a rehearsal shot, which is an industry no-no.
