The Bigg Chill Denies That Demi Lovato Gave Them A Handwritten Apology And A $100,000 Donation
Last weekend, Demi Lovato called out Los Angeles frozen yogurt chain The Bigg Chill because she believed they were pushing “diet culture” disguised as sugar-free and gluten-free offerings (when all she wanted in her face was froyo). Not long after people pointed out that her activism might have been a bit misguided, and also that it wasn’t a good look to be attacking a small business in the middle of a pandemic, Demi apologized. Her apology was a bit on the “sorry, not sorry” side of apologies, which I’m sure made some people suspicious of how sincere she really was. But then a rumor popped up on the internet, in which we learned that Demi had allegedly given The Bigg Chill a formal hand-written apology note and $100,000. That made me think, “Oh shit, I guess she is actually sorry, really sorry.” But alas, The Bigg Chill says Demi wasn’t sorry enough to write a personal apology.
Demi Lovato Is Sorry For Starting A Fight With A Frozen Yogurt Shop Over Sugar-Free Cookies
Demi Lovato once sang that she’s “cool for the summer,” but over the weekend she proved her summer likely wouldn’t involve any cool treats from a Los Angeles frozen yogurt chain called The Bigg Chill. And that’s because a certain menu item at The Bigg Chill had gotten Demi all fired up (okay, I’ll stop with the temperature references). Demi, a person who has lived with an eating disorder for many years, was very triggered when she entered The Bigg Chill and saw several “diet foods,” like sugar-free or high-protein cookies. So she channeled her inner Karen and publicly called them out on Instagram for all her 102 million followers, and started trending the hashtag #DietCultureVultures.
Not too long after, a whole bunch of people reminded Demi of the existence of dietary restrictions, like diabetes or celiac disease, and that those foods exist for people who need them. Demi has heard everyone’s criticisms of her rant against The Bigg Chill, and she’s offered up an apology.

Demi Lovato has been laying her soul bare for all the world to see for a while now. She’s been open about her struggles with substance abuse and eating disorders since her 2013 autobiography Staying Strong. Just a couple of weeks ago she released a music video reenacting her 2018 overdose (but made it fashion) that almost killed her. And so I absolutely cannot wait for her follow-up video where she recreates the harrowing experience she recently had at The Bigg Chill frozen yogurt shop. No, she did not choke on a gummi bear or aspirate a jimmy. This was worse. Way worse. Demi laid eyes on a sugar-free cookie. Let that sink in. A. Sugar. Free. Cookie. No wonder she went ballistic and put The Bigg Chill on blast!

Demi Lovato and Noah Cyrus (little sister to Miley Cyrus) might be a thing. These two just recorded a new song together and a source is implying that maybe it’s a little romantic. I’d call it a random pairing, but I think these two are equally thirsty for any and all attention, so maybe they’re actually twin souls.
Demi Lovato Thought Getting Engaged Would Prove She Was Okay
Demi Lovato is still working hard to prove she’s okay after a disastrous couple of years which found her nearly dying of a drug overdose in 2018, followed by a long period in recovery, which she capped with a hasty engagement to a thirsty beard. Well actually, Max Ehrich is more of a thirsty five o’clock shadow. A couple of weeks ago in a Glamour interview, Demi said that ending her relationship with Max, to whom she got engaged after just a few months of dating, made her realize she was queer. And now in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, Demi says that she thought getting married and wearing a million dollar ring on her finger would “prove to the world” that she’s okay. She now sees that that was not okay.
