Yesterday, Mieka posted about the rumor that 55-year-old Brad Pitt might be dating 30-year-old Alia Shawkat. It felt like an Arrested Development B-plot in which Maebe Fünke, fresh off of scamming her way back into her old job as a producer at Tantamount Studios, starts dating Brad Pitt after suggesting he’d be perfect as the lead in a reboot of Homeless Dad. But their pairing might be as fictional as that scenario I just made up, because sources are saying that there’s nothing romantic going on between them.

Brad Pitt And Alia Shawkat Sparked Dating Rumors After Attending An Art Gallery Event Together

In a surprising development, it looks like William Bradley Pitt maeby fünking Alia Shawkat from Arrested Development. Brad and Alia were spotted together at an art exhibit called LA On Fire on Saturday, a show in which Alia had a piece on display, per her Instagram. They were photographed participating in an IRL group chat, which I guess is something that people who put bras on and leave the house on a Saturday night sometimes do. That alone isn’t necessarily proof that they were on a date, but according to Lainey Gossip, somebody also snapped a sneak shot of them elsewhere that night, sitting together “at a small table” and Alia was wearing the same outfit she wore to the gallery. Adding to the mystique, that photo has since been removed from the internet.

You would think being married to one of the founders and most vocal proponents of the Time’s Up movement might have some added benefits such as, helping you develop a more nuanced understanding of sexual politics in the workplace, or, how to craft a winning apology. But apparently that’s not how it works in the Tamblyn-Cross household. David Cross is taking heat for his participation in that New York Times interview with the cast of Arrested Development that should have been called “How To Sink A Show Before It Even Airs”.
