Katy Perry Allegedly Wants To Quit “American Idol” Because This Season’s Editing Made Her Look Like The “Nasty Judge”

I’d argue that the American Idol producers were already doing their worst when they aired that despicable, dehydrated scarecrow Kellyanne Conway accompanying her daughter Claudia to audition for the show a few seasons ago. But, longtime judge Katy Perry has allegedly reached her breaking point with the show after receiving increased backlash this season for her sometimes rude comments and coaching style that producers have dared not to edit out. And now, after six years as a judge, she might call it quits because she’s tired of producers “throwing her under the bus.

A source told The Daily Mail that Katy believes the producers are leaving her nasty comments in the final edits to purposely paint her as the “nasty judge” next to the other judges: “yee-haw aw shucks!Luke Bryan and “kind, sweaty sex panther dadLionel Richie.

Katy Perry wants to quit American Idol after six years over fears she is being repeatedly ‘thrown under the bus by producers’ who she believes have purposefully edited her to look like the ‘nasty judge’.

‘Katy feels like [the producers] threw her under the bus,’ the source said. ‘She feels like her comments could have been removed.

‘She went into it thinking she was going to foster young talent. For her good intentions to be misinterpreted it was not what she wanted.

Katy caught flack a couple of times this season–the biggest being when she mom-shamed contestant and 25-year-old mom of three Sarah Beth Liebe by saying she was “laying on the table too much.” Sarah ended up quitting over it. Katy also lit up social media when she told two contestants their “energy was broken,” and diehard fans have even been crying that this season’s competition was rigged and Katy was in on it.

Another wave of backlash came during Hollywood week when Katy told struggling hopefuls Carina DeAngelo, 25, and Nutsa Buzaladze, 25, that their performance was ‘underwhelming’ – adding that their ‘energy was broken.’

In the wake of both incidents, Katy was slammed on social media – and that criticism has continued to dog her in the weeks since, with several fans crying out for her to be ‘replaced’, even dragging her into the ‘rigging’ row that erupted when this year’s winner, Iam Tongi, was crowned.

Here’s a recap of the mom-drama:

And after Katy (who never met a sequin or rhinestone she didn’t like) critiqued another contestant’s outfit and love of glitter, bitch got booed:

Katy must’ve been emboldened by her recent hoity-toity King Charles coronation performance; because she says the shit she’s been getting from American Idol viewers is tarnishing her “legacy” (which consists of things such as a sad dancing shark, a broken doll-like wonky eye malfunction, and spraying whipped cream out of her bra) and the millions she gets paid each season isn’t worth it anymore.

Now, DailyMail.com’sider says, she’s decided enough is enough and is ready to call it quits altogether – walking away from a reported $25 million-per-season pay check in the process.

However, the source insisted that money doesn’t matter to the chart-topper – and that no pay check will ever be worth the damage she feels the show is doing to her ‘legacy’.

‘[Katy’s decision to quit] is not a money thing,’ the insider shared.  ‘For her, it is starting to be more of a legacy issue. She does not want her career defined by a talent competition show where she isn’t even performing.’

‘She has accomplished so much in her career and is now being looked at as a nasty reality show judge….Katy’s wanted out for some time now, but this season was way too much for her to handle.’

Though she hasn’t responded to the speculation she’s going to quit, when recently asked for her thoughts about the show being renewed for another season, Katy played coy about her role in it.

‘Oh, I’m just so grateful,’ she said when asked what she’d like to see on the next season – before her fellow judge Luke Bryan, 46, jokingly responded: ‘Other than me [getting] fired?’

‘Right, right, right,’ Katy went on, before Lionel Richie, 73, scolded them both: ‘Don’t put that out there, okay?’

Does no one remember Simon Cowell’s 14-year twatty reign? Katy faced some controversy a few seasons ago when she forced her lips on a contestant who’d never been kissed before, so this shouldn’t be new to her. In fact, I think she should just lean into her villain role, because the last time American Idol was watchable was way back when Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj spent an entire season competing in the petty bitch Olympics!
