Gap Sues Kanye West For $2 Million Over Breach Of Contract

Gap is coming for whatever money’s left in Kanye West’s dramatically slimed down wallet after losing $1.5 billion when Adidas terminated their partnership. No, they’re not suing him for making them sell their failed Yeezy x Gap collab out of trash bags. Gap’s taking legal action after they got sued by Art City Center, whose building was leased out to Gap during their partnership with Kanye and was apparently left damaged after he made alterations to the building without Gap’s approval. So basically, Gap wants to pass over the bill to Kanye.

While Gap should’ve just ended their partnership with Kanye the second he took their apparel off hangers and stuffed them into trash bags- the company ended their partnership after he graduated from internet troll to full-blown antiSemite- cutting ties with the following statement,  “Antisemitism, racism and hate in any form are inexcusable and not tolerated in accordance with our values.” But they were probably relieved to find out Jonah Hill cured him!

Now, months after pulling the plug on their association, Gap wants Kanye to pay $2 million to cover the cost of fixing the damages of the building plus the legal fees they took on as a result of his mess, as reported by TMZ:

According to new legal docs, obtained by TMZ, Gap wants Kanye to foot the bill for any damages it might incur in a lawsuit it’s facing … because Gap feels Ye and his company are responsible for putting them in this mess.

As for that mess — Gap is being sued by Art City Center, a company that says it owns a building in downtown L.A. that was leased to Gap as a storefront for Kanye’s Yeezy clothing line.

Art City Center says the building underwent a ton of unapproved alterations when Gap was hawking the Yeezy collab in 2021 and 2022 … and the company is suing Gap over the cost to restore the premises. So, Gap is, essentially, trying to pass that buck to Kanye.

According to the lawsuit, the Yeezy-vision-remodel included “erecting an exterior ramp in the east side parking lot; installing a tunnel in the lot; removing ceiling lights; building a wall; and nixing three bathrooms.”  At this point, Kanye West probably spends more time with his legal team than his own children- not that Kim Kardashian’s complaining. Last thing she needs is little Saint West repeating shit like, “Slavery was a choice!”
