Liam Payne Did An Interview With Logan Paul And Aired One Direction’s Dirty Laundry
Liam Payne used to be in a boyband with a bunch of other dudes of different fame levels. Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, and Louis Tomlinson were all members of One Direction with Liam back in the day. And yes, I listed then by fame level. During an appearance on Logan Paul‘s podcast, Liam, I guess, decided to toss away all that boyish shit to the side and basically shaded the whole band. Liam said one got physical with him, he was actually the main one, and that he “doesn’t agree with any” of what Zayn Malik has been up to. One can assume he means all the domestic issues he had with his ex, Gigi Hadid‘s, mother, Yolanda Hadid. It was enough to have Liam trending as the Villain of the Day in some circles more so than when he maybe cheated on his ex-fiancé.
Logan’s podcast is called Impaulsive so let’s start there. I guess Liam got a little “impaulsive” himself and he threw everything he’d learned from his PR teams over the years out the window and decided to shit-talk 1D. Liam suggested that he was informed by Simon Cowell–the co-creator of X-Factor, the show that created 1D–that Liam was guaranteed a music career, and so 1D was really all built around him. Bitch–we all know it was built around Harry Styles’ original hairstyle. Liam said, via Billboard:
“And from what I’ve heard is that part of the reason One Direction was made was because of Simon’s promise to me that in 2 years I’ll make this work for you,” Payne revealed. “So he kind of started with my face and worked around the rest… I was the honorary member of One Direction and he told me that story himself at his house.”
Liam did say that the other members of the band were the right choices because he’s not a “rowdy guy” and he was surprised by how “wild” some of them were which sometimes led to friction. Specifically, Liam said Louis and he “hated each other” in the band but he’s his “best mate now.” Liam also said that he and Louis almost fought, that’s how fraught things were between them. And also, that he and another member who he did not name, once did get physical, as the groupmate“threw me up a wall.” But Liam had some biting words ready:
“If you don’t remove those hands there’s a high likelihood you’ll never use them again.”
And as some may remember, Logan’s brother, Jake Paul, and Zayn had some drama in which Gigi also got involved. Logan of course remembers, and brought it to Liam and Liam did a kind of roast-but-out-of-loving-support kind of thing? It was weird, Liam oscillates between dragging Zayne and even making suggestive comments about Zayn’s family, but also says he supports him endlessly.
“If I had had to go through what he went through… through his growth and whatever else… my parents are overly supportive to the point where it’s annoying at times… and Zayn had a different upbringing in that sense,” he said cryptically. “You can always look at the man for where he is and say, “Oh yeah, whatever that guy’s a dick, right?” But at the end of the day once you understand what he’s been through to get to that point and also whether or not he actually wanted to be there… I can’t sit here and dick on him because of whatever and listen, I don’t agree with any of his actions. I can’t commend some of the things that he’s done. I can’t be on his side for that.”
While Payne did not get into specifics about which actions he was referring to, he added that he does understand and hope that “at some point in their life the person on the other end of the phone wants to receive the help that your’e willing to give them.”
Does Liam have a PR team, because what was this move? I mean, he needed a PR person to whisper in his year, “Err, bitch, think of your bank account because you may have to beg the other members to do a One Direction reunion tour in a couple of years…”
