Gigi Hadid Is Talking To Lawyers About Custody With Zayn Malik, And She’s Let Her Mom Know She Needs To Co-Parent With Him
Last week shit got sad and messy when Yolanda Hadid claimed her daughter Gigi Hadid’s then-partner Zayn Malik “struck” her. It was also claimed that he called Yolanda a “Dutch slut,” pushed her into a dresser, and tried to fight with a bodyguard. Zayn immediately denied it, but after he was charged with 4 criminal offenses of harassment, he took a plea deal and pled no contest to one count of harassment. Zayn got 360 days probation and must attend anger management classes and a domestic violence program.
Zayn and Gigi are no longer together, but they share a daughter, 1-year-old Khai. According to Us Weekly’s source, Gigi is talking to lawyers about how to deal with custody going forward. The source adds that the 26-year-old model has informed her mother that 28-year-old Zayn will always be a part of her life cuz he’s Khai’s dad. Sorry, Yo. The Hadids are forever stuck with One Direction’s knock-off Derek Zoolander.

“Gigi met with her lawyers last week. She also met with new lawyers to start helping with custody issues,” a source exclusively reveals in the new issue of Us Weekly. “There will be conversations about custody.”
The insider adds that since the former One Direction member, 28, “will always have to be a part of her life,” the model, 26, finds his and Yolanda Hadid’s alleged altercation “distressing.”

“Yolanda is very upset with Zayn, but Gigi has made it clear that her daughter needs her dad,” a source close to Gigi tells PEOPLE in this week’s issue, on newsstands Friday. “Gigi will do everything she can to make sure they co-parent in a civil way.”
If Zayn goes six months and attends all his classes, pays his fines, doesn’t contact Yolanda or her security guard (who was also present at the time of the alleged incident), and there are no other “violations,” his probation can be terminated early. But the holidays are coming up, and that’s the ultimate test for a family that hates each other. It’s not like Zayn will be invited over for turkey dinner, but what’ll happen when he and Gigi need to decide where Khai spends Christmas?
