W Magazine Has Released Their Annual “Best Performances” List For 2022

If this year’s Golden Globes flop is any indication, big glitzy awards shows might not be as important as they once were. That opens the door to just about any old body to swoop in and declare they’ve predicted the Oscars. W Magazine has just published their annual Best Performances issue and unlike the GGs, they were actually able to get all the big-name celebrities into hair and makeup, including Oscar-hungry Lady Gaga. So you better believe she was ready for her close-up when W Magazine called!
In Gaga’s W interview, she laid it on real thick by claiming that she knew it was time to leave Patrizia Reggiani behind when “large swarms of flies kept following me around, and I truly began to believe that she had sent them.” All the better than that, Lady Gaga was one of 10 actors chosen for Best Performances list for 2022. She joins fellow House Of Gucci ham Adam Driver, Kristen Stewart for Spencer, Gemma Chan for Eternals, Denzel Washington for The Tragedy of Macbeth, Cate Blanchett for Nightmare Alley, Jessica Chastain for The Eyes of Tammy Faye, Benedict Cumberbatch for The Power of The Dog, Jennifer Hudson for Respect and Tilda Swinton and her daughter Swinton Byrne for The Souvenir Part II. I know I said 10 but leave it to Tilda and her spawn to make things weird and confusing.
All this list tells me is that I am not ready for the Oscars yet. I’ve usually seen at least half of the performances by the time nominations are announced, but I’ve been kind of busy this year trying not to die. So I can’t imagine the toll it’s taken on these poor souls who, in addition to trying not to die, also had to suit up and campaign for an award that will most likely be handed to them by James Cordon, probably the only person the Oscars can hope to book on such short notice.
