JLo And A-Rod Are Now Denying The Breakup Rumors

March 13, 2021 / Posted by:

Yesterday, Jennifer Lopez, 51, and Alex Rodriguez, 45, took a rusty machete to hopeful hearts all over the world when their breakup was announced after a two-year engagement and a total of four years together. We were all left to pick up our scattered ventricle bits and try to figure out just what (or whom) A-Rod’s jet-setting, FaceTime-cruising sportsball peen had done to cross the line for good this time. But we can all breathe more easily now because JLo and A-Rod are denying the final, deathblow crumble of their mighty empire of influence as well as business.

According to TMZ:

Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez say reports of their demise as a couple have been greatly exaggerated — well, maybe just exaggerated — because they say they are still fighting to stay together … TMZ has learned.

Both JLo and A-Rod tell TMZ, “All the reports are inaccurate. We are working through some things.” We’re also told what they’re working through has nothing to do with a third party.

Sources connected to the couple made it clear to TMZ and other outlets Friday … the couple had called off their engagement and broken up. We asked our sources with direct knowledge why we were all told they broke up, and we were told things were “bad” on Friday.

If JLo can get past the constant specter of A-Rod’s anti-monogamy peen proclivities swirling in her head to the screechy soundtrack of Jose Canseco‘s evil laughter in the background, and things move forward as originally planned, this would be her fourth marriage and A-Rod’s second. Somewhere in a Las Vegas casino, Nicolas Cage is screaming, “Amateurs!”

People has more on the revised storyline from a source:

“They never officially broke up and talked about it but are still together. They hit a rough patch. But were not broken up,” a source close to the pair tells PEOPLE. The source added that the speculation that arose last month that Rodriguez had had an affair after Southern Charm’s Madison LeCroy “had no bearing on the rough patch at all. ”

“She’s working in the Dominican Republic and he’s in Miami so it’s tough seeing each other especially with quarantining and COVID,” the source adds of Lopez and Rodriguez, “but they want to try to stay together.”

So for the moment, they’re in “Let’s keep gluing this doomed wreck together for the sake of appearances even though we killed the definition of true love” mode, and it’s not quite time to officially announce their demise since their lawyers are probably fighting bitterly over their shared assets.

Make of this what you will, but here’s what JLo posted on her Instagram yesterday. Is she laughing at the breakup rumors?

And here is A-Rod’s own carefree offering:

What could be causing A-Rod to frown like that? Is he frowning at a text from JLo that reads: “You’d better give me the $40 million Miami mansion for embarrassing me by flirting with a Bravo nobody!” Or is he frowning at a text from JLo that reads: “You’d better give me the $40 million Miami mansion AND the Manhattan penthouse for embarrassing me by flirting with a Bravo nobody!”
