Tekashi 6ix9ine Is Out Of Prison Thanks To Coronavirus

Hide yo children (for real), because 23-year-old Tekashi 6ix9ine is free(ish).

The knock-off Garbage Pail Kid was let out of prison yesterday and allowed to serve the rest of his sentence at home because of coronavirus. Tekashi tried to get house arrest earlier this year, and got denied, but then corona happened and his lawyers argued that he’s at risk because he’s got asthma. And just like that, Bill Cosby has clutched his chest in his cell and cried about having a major case of the wheezies.

The 23-year-old rapper, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, had been housed at a private facility under contract with the federal Bureau of Prisons. He was serving time after pleading guilty to multiple counts of racketeering, firearms offenses and drug trafficking.

Citing safety concerns, Lazzaro declined to reveal which private lockup his client had been at and refused to say where he would stay for the final four months of his two-year sentence.

U.S. District Judge Paul A. Engelmayer had earlier written that he didn’t have legal authority to change the sentence, and he told Hernandez’s defense team that it first had to ask the Bureau of Prisons to let him out because of the pandemic.

But once the bureau refused the request, Engelmayer said, the court was allowed to act.

“It is readily apparent — and the Court here finds — that the circumstances presented here are extraordinary and compelling so as to justify compassionate release in Mr. Hernandez’s case,” Englemayer ruled Thursday in New York City.

Judge Paul also wrote that he doesn’t think Tekashi is a threat to society. I think the children of the world would disagree, as well as people with ears since Tekashi’s already signed another record deal.

One of Tekashi’s lawyers, Lance Lazarro, said that Tekashi is happy to be out and wouldn’t say where he’s spending the last four months of his two-year sentence because of safety issues. Which makes sense since he snitched on a dangerous gang and refused witness protection. A choice.

Lance also said that Tekashi hasn’t been tested for coronavirus, but will at some point when a test becomes “readily available.” When reached for comment, coronavirus said, “Bitch, like I’d touch that!
