Amber Heard Wants Johnny Depp To Undergo A Mental Health Evaluation

The fight between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard just took a turn that probably made Johnny Depp roll his eyes, while at least one person in his security detail nervously remarked, “Ha ha ha, but like…it probably wouldn’t hurt, right?

Johnny Depp is currently suing Amber Heard for defamation (due to her alleging that he was abusive during their marriage, and him accusing her of making up lies to smear his name after she filed for divorce). Johnny has done the most to paint Amber as an abusive, manipulative, bruise-faking liar. Amber recently threw out the allegation that Johnny has paid people to shut up and stay silent about witnessing his alleged violent behavior (she also requested his former money managers to provide receipts for said alleged payoffs). While she’s waiting for those documents, she’s looking for another document that can provide some evidence on Johnny’s mental health situation.

According to The Blast, Amber recently filed a request for Johnny to submit to a mental health assessment. The documents state that Amber would like an IME, or an Independent Mental Evaluation. She wants someone to confirm or disprove her alleged theory that Johnny’s relationship with booze, drugs, and prescription medicines contributed to his violent behavior. The document reads:

“Johnny’s relationship with reality oscillates, depending upon his interaction with alcohol and drugs. As Johnny’s paranoia, delusions and aggression increased throughout our relationship, so has my awareness of his continued substance abuse.”

It’s no secret that Johnny likes to get messy. And sometimes it’s funny when he has an audience of many, but an audience of one is a darker story. Last year, Rolling Stone ran a story about Johnny that made him out to be a bit of a mess. Johnny hated it, and tried to re-write the narrative so he came across much cooler, and not so much as the male Jerri Blank (aka a boozer, a user, and a loser). But the main takeaway was that Johnny is no stranger to alcohol and pills.

Substance abuse isn’t proof that someone has mental health issues, but they can sometimes be a sign or a symptom. Amber wants a professional’s opinion on Johnny’s health either way.

Since no one in this situation can let an update pass without releasing a statement slapping at the other person, Johnny’s attorney released a statement regarding Amber’s request for an IME. Johnny thinks Amber’s request is bullshit, and is once again accusing her of orchestrating an elaborate domestic violence hoax.

“This is a defamation case in which Mr. Depp does not allege that he suffers from any mental disorder or condition. Thus, Mr. Depp’s mental condition is not ‘in controversy’ nor does good cause exist under the rule for an IME of Mr. Depp. It is a preposterous notion that an IME now would shed light on Mr. Depp’s mental state at the time of Ms. Heard’s abuse hoax back in 2016. Ms. Heard’s effort treads a well-worn path of victim blaming using the pretext of mental health. By Ms. Heard’s tortured credibility logic, current IME’s would also be warranted for all the dozens of eyewitnesses who have attested to the various facets of the hoaxes they witnessed years ago.”

Maybe Johnny would be more open to an IME if Amber volunteered to undergo one as well. That way, it’s nice and fair. Well, at least for Johnny and Amber. It’s a whole other story for the mental health professional assigned to adjudicate their situations. After hearing them talk shit about each other for – let’s be conservative and say 30 hours – they’d take their results back to the hospital, walk directly into the psych ward, and request a soundproof room where they can recover from their mental exhaustion.
