Amber Heard Is Accusing Johnny Depp Of Paying Off Witnesses

Amber Heard and Johnny Depp’s defamation lawsuit battle continues to be the “Hold my beer” meme of messy celebrity splits. Despite being officially divorced for nearly three years, they continue to fight in court, with Johnny accusing Amber of making up domestic abuse lies, and Amber firing back that Johnny was allegedly every inch a shitty, awful husband as she has said he was. We’re back with new allegations from Team Amber, who claim Johnny is guilty of attempting to make some alleged witnesses disappear by throwing money at them.

For the past couple of months, Johnny Depp has been trying really hard to make it seem like Amber was making up a story when she alleged that Johnny got violent with her. Johnny has accused Amber of being an abuser, manipulator, a liar, painting on fake bruises, and putting out a cigarette on his face. Amber has claimed that she has hit Johnny in the past, but it was an act of self-defense to protect her sister. Amber has also claimed that there are witnesses to her abuse, like her friend iO Tillet Wright. iO Tillet Wright was allegedly on the phone with Amber during one of Johnny’s alleged violent outbursts, and they allegedly heard Amber instruct them to call 911. According to some recently-filed documents obtained by The Blast, Amber claims there are many more witnesses, and they were all paid to keep quiet.

Amber has subpoenaed The Mandel Group (TMG), Johnny’s former business managers. They stopped working with Johnny in 2016, and subsequently found themselves in the middle of a very messy money battle with Johnny. Johnny had accused TMG of mismanaging his dollars, while TMG accused Johnny of spending like a careless asshole. Amber wants TMG to turn over records allegedly showing payouts to witnesses of Johnny’s violent outbursts, and money given to others that helped cover-up any domestic abuse situations. The document reads:

“TMG also paid millions of dollars to various members of Mr. Depp’s staff, many of whom will be witnesses in the underlying lawsuit, as well as millions of dollars to bail (Mr. Depp) out of numerous legal crises and make a series of hush money settlements.”

Millions? As in, plural millions? Shoot, maybe he didn’t blow all his money on red wine after all. No, he totally did, but he might have tucked a couple Jack Sparrow checks away for hush payments.

Amber also digs way way back into the archives for one allegation. So remember back in 2016, when a bunch of texts were leaked of an alleged conversation between Amber and Johnny’s assistant Stephen Deuters? There were screen shots, and they looked legit. Stephen claimed in the text messages that Johnny was very sad for acting like an abusive shit, and Amber responded that she didn’t really want to see Johnny for her own protection. Stephen later claimed the texts looked like they had been “doctored.” According to Amber’s filing, she believes that Johnny and Stephen knew the texts were legit, and Johnny then “pressured and berated” Stephen to come out publicly and dispute their legitimacy.

So TMG allegedly managed some of Johnny’s money for payouts, according to Amber. But did they know what the money was for? Amber says yes, they fully knew what the money was being used for.

“Of particular relevance here, by its own account, TMG was aware that Mr. Depp had violently abused Ms. heard and that he had pressured his employees to make false public statements denying this fact. [Joel Mandel] was informed well after the fact through communications with various house staff and security that Depp had been extremely volatile and had sometimes ‘gotten physical’ with Heard and that Johnny Depp had violently kicked Heard during an incident that took place in or around 2014.”

Amber also implies TMG hinted at the alleged truth of those payouts in their own lawsuit battle with Johnny, saying that TMG allegedly claimed Johnny repeatedly “coerced individuals to lie to protect him.” Amber also wants any relevant information regarding Johnny’s past relationships, like documents showing that Johnny got violent with other women.

TMG has responded to Amber’s request, and they claim it’s going to be too hard and expensive to retrieve all those documents. Amber’s team responded to that by offering to cover the $5,575 cost. And they want them ASAP. Amber’s lawyer spoke to The Blast, and said that if this case proceeds, then trial is scheduled to begin early in February.

Johnny’s lawyer Adam Waldman issued a statement regarding Amber’s latest legal update, and I’m sure you’ll be completely shocked from your head to your toes that Johnny’s team has once again called Amber a liar, and they’re calling bullshit on the payouts.

“This is the truth: good people have come forward to set the record straight on the violent injustices and hoax perpetrated by Amber Heard. Today, Amber Heard and Harvey Weinstein’s #TimesUp lawyers have a new gambit – suggest the dozens of witnesses who have come forward, many of whom have never even met Mr. Depp, are all somehow paid off by Mr. Depp! In the alternative universe of Harvey Weinstein and #TimesUp’s lawyers, they don’t seem to get that most people are good, and the truth is free.”

Ohhhh…..someone should probably tell Johnny’s lawyer that mentioning Harvey Weinstein’s name that much isn’t a great move. I’m pretty sure he’s like Beetlejuice; you say his name three times, and he crawls out from a crack in the floor and everyone is reminded of how repulsive he is. It’s especially bad to imply that Harvey Weinstein is one of the good guys who is innocent until proven guilty. But I will say this, it’s a refreshing change for once that Johnny Depp isn’t the grossest part of a Johnny Depp story.
