Jane Fonda Got Arrested For The Fourth Time In Four Weeks
Jane Fonda is THAT bitch. 81-year-old Jane could be chilling on some villa or dating some hot 20-year-old plaything like the boys do, but what is she doing? Picking up and moving to Washington D.C. so that she can protest climate policies of the American government. And get arrested (in Carmen Sandiego meets Talbots chic) while doing so.
Jane is now on her fourth arrest and actually spent her first night in jail. If that isn’t the most badass old-lady I’ve ever seen in my whole damn life… Book Club 2 is about to be edgy as hell.
CNN says that Jane Fonda is not joking around with this environment shit, y’all. Jane has been participating in her “Fire Drill Fridays” in an attempt to raise awareness on climate change and get us to realize the urgency of the impact our actions are having on the planet. Jane was inspired by young environmental activist Greta Thunberg and wanted to do something of her own after reading more about climate change. Sure she recycles, but do you? So she’s gonna get you to. Jane has been protesting every Friday. She even accepted a BAFTA Award during the last one. She spoke to Christiane Amanpour about what she’s been doing:
“There is a collective crisis, requires collective action. And so I decided to use my celebrity to try to raise the sense of urgency, and I moved to Washington, and I’m going to get arrested every Friday.”
Every week she goes with advocacy organizations to gather at the US Capitol to educate the people on fossil fuels and renewable energy and greed. So far Jane has been arrested on October 11, October 18 with Grace & Frankie co-star Sam Waterston, October 25 with Ted Danson, and yesterday, November 1st. However, this is the first time that Jane spent a night in jail over her protests.

I mean, look at this? We have Lori Loughlin fucking clinging to the hope she won’t spend a precious second of her life in low-security daycare and meanwhile Jane Fonda is throwing herself in.
