Looks like the people who are working on the next Batman movie, called The Batman, really thought to themselves: “Hmmm, how can we piss off literally every single fan boy who we haven’t already alienated after Ben Affleck?” Well the brainstorming session has been completed and it was a rousing success! After it was rumored that Robert Pattinson and Nicholas Hoult were the last two left for the role, it looks like Warner Bros. has approved RBattz!
There’s A Rumor That Vanessa Hudgens Will Play Catwoman In “The Batman”
It’s a mid-to-late 2000s miracle! Well, at the very least, it’s a miracle for anyone who was a teen girl in 2008 who also happens to have any interest in the characters of the DC universe. Matt Reeves‘ standalone Batman movie, The Batman, is still in pre-production. The rumor is that Batman will be played by Robert Pattinson. And now there’s a rumor from a YouTube channel that Catwoman will be played by 2000s TV musical queen Vanessa Hudgens. I look forward to the scene where Batman and Catwoman battle in the high school cafeteria over the last plate of chicken fingers.
Catwoman And The Penguin May Appear In “The Batman”
I’ve included this picture of Michelle Pfeiffer not to tease you into the false hope that Hollywood has made a good decision by casting her again as Catwoman. I chose it because it’s a great way to remind Hollywood that they can’t do any better for Catwoman, but bless their hearts for continuing to try (sorry, Halle Berry and Anne Hathaway). According to Collider, Catwoman’s next big screen appearance will be alongside The Penguin in The Batman.
Jon Hamm Would Be Open To The Idea Of Replacing Ben Affleck As Batman
The Superman suit isn’t the only spandex superhero costume that Warner Bros. might have to think about filling with a new actor. Rumors that Ben Affleck is done playing Batman have been circulating for over a year now, and Warner Bros. has never commented on that. If Warner Bros. is thinking of replacing Ben, Jon Hamm is up for it.

Ben Affleck’s face showed up in a trailer for Justice League at Comic-Con this weekend, and I hope everyone got a good look, because Justice League and Justice League Pt. 2 might be the last times you see Ben as Batman. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ben’s secret wish of putting his Batsuit into mothballs might come true sooner than he hoped.
Rehab Won’t Affect Ben Affleck’s Involvement In “The Batman”
Ben Affleck announced on Facebook yesterday that he spent time in rehab for an alcohol addiction. Many people reacted by wondering just how many more stories about Jennifer Garner divorcing/not divorcing Ben we were about to get. Nerds, on the other hand, were probably wondering what his trip to rehab might mean for The Batman.
There’s no need to worry about it, if that’s something that kept you awake last night. A source tells Entertainment Weekly that Ben’s trip to rehab hasn’t affected production. The source claims Ben is still working on the script, and he’s doing it with DC Comic’s chief creative officer Geoff Johns. As of a month ago, there was talk that The Batman was without a director, but Warner Bros. has since confirmed that Matt Reeves will direct. Also, according to Variety’s Justin Kroll, The Batman isn’t going to happen for a while.

This is probably terrible news for Ben Affleck. There have been rumors that Ben really doesn’t want to be Batman anymore. And I’m sure a little part of him was hoping they’d just start production without him. Now he’s stuck waiting around until 2018. You know, alcohol rehab might still work to his benefit. “Uh oh, don’t think working on The Batman is good for me right now. Bat rhymes with vat. Booze is sometimes distilled in a vat. I’m sort of trying to stay away from booze and…uh…words that rhyme with booze-y things. Gosh, so sorry guys! Looks like I’m out.”
