Open Post: Hosted By “Jeopardy!” Champion Mattea Roach Losing By Just $1

May 9, 2022 / Posted by:

The last year of Jeopardy! has been a wild ride. Last July Matt Amodio kicked things off with a 38-game winning streak. In November, amazing Amy Schneider began her historic run; she won 40 consecutive games and became the second most-winning contestant in Jeopardy! history (after host Ken Jennings). Then, last month, we met Mattea Roach, a 23-year-old Canadian tutor with a nose ring and a passion for gesticulating with her hands. She managed to win 23 games and over $560,983 ($720,000 Canadian), making her the champion with the fifth-most wins. Alas, Mattea was finally defeated on Friday, losing by just $1 ($1.30 Canadian).

Amy Schneider’s “Jeopardy!” Reign Has Come To An End

January 27, 2022 / Posted by:

And Just Like That… Amy Schneider’s Jeopardy! winning streak has come to an end after 40 episodes and $1,382,800 in prize money. Amy was finally defeated last night by Rhone Talsma, a Chicago librarian in chic statement glasses. The loss comes two days after Amy surpassed 2020 champ Matt Amodio’s 38-game record as the second-most winning contestant in the show’s history. Ken Jennings still reigns supreme at 74 wins. And if Ken wasn’t also the one hosting these episodes, I’d be mighty suspicious of this “Rhone Talsma” character. Scramble the letters in his name and you get “I AM KEN JENNINGS” (actually, you get “SALMON HEART”, but that doesn’t work for the joke). Amy Schneider Is Now The “Jeopardy!” Champion With The Second-Most Wins, Behind Ken Jennings

January 25, 2022 / Posted by:

42-year-old software engineering manager Amy Schneider continues to whoop nerd butt on Jeopardy! Last night she claimed her 39th victory, which means she’s surpassed champion, Matt Amodio, as the second-most winning contestant in the show’s history. And she’s scored $1,319,800 in prize money. The question is, can Amy beat Ken Jennings’ 74-episode record from 2004? Don’t count on it. Ken is the one hosting Amy’s episodes. He’s probably gonna start greasing her buzzer, mumbling her Daily Doubles, and spiking her coffee with NyQuil. “What is… Amy’s passed out! And that’s a forfeit, ladies and gentlemen.”

Current “Jeopardy!” Champion Amy Schneider Was Robbed

January 4, 2022 / Posted by:

Bummer news outta the Jeopardy! world. Don’t worry, Mike Richards is still fired. Nope, this is about current Jeopardy! champion, Amy Schneider. The 42-year-old engineering manager from Oakland, California has 24 consecutive wins under her belt, with $897,600 in total winnings. Unfortunately for Amy, something shitty happened to her this past Sunday. She was robbed! No, not on the show (Jeopardy! doesn’t air Sundays, silly!). She was literally robbed in real life.

LeVar Burton Has Decided That He Doesn’t Really Want To Host “Jeopardy!” After All

September 17, 2021 / Posted by:

There’s been so much drama in selecting the next host of Jeopardy!, with the hiring and subsequent resignation of Mike Richards, to Mayim Bialik’s constant shifting in position, to the reported reintroduction of one-time hosting hopeful Ken Jennings. As it stands right now, Sony Pictures Television and Jeopardy! producers have confirmed that they’ve locked in Mayim and Ken as co-hosts for the rest of the season until they can decide on a forever host. And during this messy process, you haven’t had to look very far to find someone yelling, “Jesus, just give the job to LeVar Burton!“. A whole lot of people wanted to see LeVar Burton replace Alex Trebek after his passing. And at one point in time, LeVar himself wanted to be that person. But then LeVar got a chance to host the show as one of the many, many guests hosts, and that’s about as far as he’d like his Jeopardy! journey to go.

“Jeopardy!” Will Be Hosted By Mayim Bialik And Ken Jennings For The Rest Of The Season

September 16, 2021 / Posted by:

When Mike Richards was fired as the new host of Jeopardy! after just one day on the job, it was reported that Mayim Bialick (who was hired to host Jeopardy! specials and spin-offs) would fill in, along with a bunch of guests hosts. But TMZ reports that producers have dropped the idea of a carousel of guest hosts and that Mayim and Jeopardy! champ Ken Jennings will share the hosting duties until a permanent host is named.
